It is there. Left audio channel going to almost the rear surround. Try changing up the sound on your tv to 'simulated surround.' That shoud do it for you.

Again about PS3 and audio issues, depending on what version you own it won't Bitstream TrueHD and DTS MA over HDMI. So it's best to keep it checked as LPCM in your settings.

I belive the PS3 Slim models fixed this issue, but there may still be a firmware issue to be adressed if it's causing trouble with the audio output on these discs.

Best thing to do is try it with both settings to see if that is the problem before trying to think of what else it could be.
My Oppo BDP-93 is pretty quick too.

Ah, ok. Whew...I thought it was gone for a second there. Thanks.

The set looks amazing so far too.

All of the "planet montages" freeze on the bonus discs as well. Firmware was updated the other night.

Hopefully just a tired Blu-ray player, but a bummer nonetheless. I have 70 other discs and never anything like this before now. I blame George Lucas.
too funny. i hear ya. mine arent playing well in my ps3, but im watching them somewhere else right now! in the middle of pt 3 right now. i love the video. that opening battle is amazing. audio weakest so far.

loved empire strikes back last night. thought it looked amazing. last time i saw em was vhs days.

envy the people who say this is the first time theyve seen them.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me much. I am just thrilled SO much effort was put into restoring these films. Actually now, when I notice the flea, I start thinking, what did they "fix" in that image? Likely only fixed the color grading, etc. and THAT is fine by me

Yea, I noticed this in one of 'caps-a-holic' screenshots from RotJ-

Interesting that you brought up Kiera Knightly. I watched TPM this afternoon and her name is in the end credits! I had no idea she was in the film.
She played Sabe. She's the main handmaiden that goes before Boss Nass to plead for the Gungans to join the Naboo before Padme's reveal. Her dialogue was dubbed by Portman.

The box art is was very clever , older people recognize the brand that is star wars based on the name but they had to find a hook to lure in the biggest segment of the money making population..kids!

Had the Original Trilogy in my hands... Because I am sure I will find the extras on YouTube in a few weeks or months...

I hate books for cases... but for some reason bought the entire Saga package to see Duel of Fates in HD... along with the Original Trilogy which is all I need.

I just watched A New Hope and HATE... HATE... HATE the R2 behind a CG rock it makes no sense at all... I loved that R2 was like a scared animal or bird and just went a far as he could into the mountain crease of rocks... Now he is in some sort of cave that he cannot possibly get into.

So, stupid... and the Jawa swing from the dino... the dumb CG robots hitting each other.

Beyond that stuff, I am very happy with A New Hope. I wish each movie was in a real Blu-Ray case.

The "you can use a good kiss" is as clear as any other line - u either have a strange bluray or something up with your sound system.

Regarding audio glitches or people with screwy speakers:
On the Empire bluray, when Chewbacca is knocking away Stormtroopers right before Han gets frozen, did anyone notice some weird sound effects?

And im watching Jedi now, and some of the Endor scenes look like an upconverted dvd.

Watched A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back so far. Both look great, amazing audio, and no problems whatsoever (playing them on my PS3).

I watched Empire Strikes Back today. Did anybody else find that the rear channels were overampflied on that one, resulting in clipping/distortions?

True. But he delivered some real acting clunkers, as well. For example the "This is your life" line in front of the bar in AotC. He tried too hard to sound and look like Alec Guinness in that scene. Or when he almost started crying in Episode III when he tells
[Show spoiler]Padme what Anakin has done
. That was pretty bad too, in a very dramatic scene no less.

Well I agree it was an unnecessary change. But when you start asking questions like how did he fit in their, you also have to ask how did he get up the slope of rocks that are infront of the cave in the first place

The CG bots and silly jawas have looked out of place since they introduced them in '97

What exactly is an 'audio dropout'?

Does the sound get fainter for a few seconds, or does it disappear completely?

It can't be stated enough...the CG Yoda of Episode I is pimp. How the he'll did we live so long with that puppet for that film?

Also, the overall smoothness of the Episode I image really doesn't bother me. Essentially, Episodes I and II look almost identical now.
