It seems like every time this is brought up, the poster almost always mentions that they have a Denon receiver.

Hey Beast, have you watched them all yet, and did you take a little ANH nap in the middle?

Did anybody else notice the following?

When Capt. Needa is picked up by the other troopers right after Vader excepts his apology, the scene shifts to a }}}black crush{{{!

It's like someone there flipped off a light switch to one of the overhead lighting fixtures.

Actually I thought if they just re-recorded his voice with a more serious voice actor, that would improve it immensely. There is one modification I believe everyone would really like.

I've only watched TPM, AOTC, ROTS, and Disc 9 so far. I'm not in a rush to start on the OT.

Plus I've been listening to the new Archival Commentaries. Which have been really interesting so far.

Ugh. Jar Jar is just fine as he is. He doesn't need removed or redubbed. That's the character Ahmed Best created.

I just checked it, and it does get really dark, and all of the shadow detail disappears. I've noticed a few place in the OT where this happens, but not anywhere near that bad.

I'm sure I need a new amp. It's an old THX select model, with 6.1 DTS-ES Discrete capabilities. Audio is optical out from the PS3, or optical or coaxial out from the stand alone Sony BR. Never expected the amp to be compatible with modern blu-ray streams, but for some damn reason, it seems to be doing fine, even correctly flagging the 6.1 dts discrete stream from the new SW discs. I know my amp is a piece of crap - I bought it as an open box from Fry's and for all I know, it was a display model, but the old amp has held up over the years. It was certainly a treat to be able to hear the LOTR extended films in discrete 6.1 back in the days of DVD.

Anyway, need a new amp, but I'm proud of the old half-assed THX amp still working and even working with the new SW mixes in 6.1 discrete no less. You did me proud, you old amp.

Maybe I'll find a new home for the old bastard in a future game room.

Anyway...need a new amp.

I'm really surprised Lucas didn't stick Hayden's burned head under Vader's helmet in Jedi. Also surprised they didn't cut the green dancer's wardrobe malfunction at Jabba's palace. You can still see the wayward boob.

On to the bonus discs.
1. Who cares that the Ewoks had human clothes?
2. It's the prequels that don't fit to the original trilogy. Poor writing in the prequels forgot about how Leia remembered her mother.

No, no, no, no, no.... as someone else already said, this is the characted Ahmed created. Besides, only the older fans seem to have any problem with him, whatsoever. Most younger viewers I know really seem to like Jar Jar, and so do I (and I grew up watching the OT when it first came out).

There's nothing wrong with Jar Jar, he's exactly the character Lucas wanted to create... and he's very likable, in an oddball kind of way.

From what I've heard, the core lossy DTS from an HD-MA encode is very good and aproaching High Resolution, if not High Definition. I'm sure it sounds pretty dang good, but there is more information in the lossless.

They alrready removed Shaws eyebrows and chaged the colour of his eyes to match Haydens, thats about as much as much as needs to be done to make it more like Hayden.

Although I don't think I would like to see a sequal trilogy now, not that there's much chance it would happen.

I think that what they are doing with the Clone Wars series is great (still need to get it on Blu-ray) And I've read various places that he has the scripts written for the long rumored Live Action series. Which I think is probably the better way to go rather than any more films.

But I can't see that happening for many years still. I think once the Clone Wars has come to an end and we have seen how far the 3D re-releases go.

Depending on the success of TPM of course, I think even though now it is often regarded as the worst of the PT if not the Saga, it would still do well enough to warrant the release of AOTC. And I belive even if they didn't end up releasing all 6 theatricaly we would probably end up with a 3D BD release regardless.

Once all thats out of the way, I think he will start to focus all of his time into the live action series. At least thats what I like to think. I do like having hopes for the future
Yeah, I keep fantasizing about how awesome episodes VII_IX would have been. Probably would have been 1986, 1989 and 1992. Imagine how the effects would have evolved in that time.

But the live action series...starting to doubt it will even happen. All they do it delay it, and I don't really thinking they will get to the point where it'll be doable for the budget. AFAIK, special effects are special effects. They don't really get cheaper to produce. Star Trek: TNG seems to have around the same number of FX shots as Stargate Universe. It's not like they reached a point where you can just have as many FX shots as you feel you need.

One of the things I like about TPM. Qui-Gon is legitimately annoyed with him, whereas Obi-Wan finds him amusing. Kind of like how the old and young audiences responded.

I don't get how people are seeing DNR in the OT. I even watched chunks of ANH and ESB zoomed in to fill my entire screen, a 52" Sony that I am about 5 feet away from. Not really seeing it. I see slightly cakey faces, like people are wearing too much makeup. But that's it. It's the exact inverse of my reaction to Jeffrey Kauffman's Big Leboswki review. I can't even conceive how somebody could see such things.

Anybody else disappointed by The Collection feature? Is it just me, or is there a lot of stuff missing? Perhaps things were just lost. Tatooine alone is missing the Tantive IV, Sandcrawler, C3PO, Star Destroyer and Landspeeder. It seems most of the locations are similarly lacking in numerous iconic pieces. Still cool to see what they do have, but I guess I was expecting it to be pretty definitive.

Is it as thin as the Firefly set? or the same thickness as the UK set? Because I know a lot of US releases use the slim cases where as we get the same thickness as DVD cases 9 times out of 10 in the UK.
I can confirm that they are the identical cases as the Firefly TV series Blu-ray release. Same thickness since both sets are released by 20th Century Fox.
