ridiculous

popped in star wars 3, no problem
I just watched ANH and ESB yesterday and there was not any green lines or any other imperfections I recalled. The set you purchased may have been defective. Exchange it for another one.

Also I the new added "special effects" that angered many fans of the original in my opinion did not add anything new to the movie and it was unnecessary. It did not really bother me that he added it, but he did not have too do anything to tweak the added changes. But overall I am very happy with the set. Excellent audio and the transfers is lights years above DVD also.

No, he's not OCD. In that screen grab, you see the green line. I don't know how prevalent this is, but it isn't a problem on my setup. For those who can see the green line, I imagine it drives them batshit. Why insult people for bringing up image issues and calling them OCD?

I just did a firmware update on my Sony BDP-S350 and "most" of the dropouts have gone away, I have heard a few, but not as many as before the update. I think the problem lays with the BD player, not the AVR as I have over 500 Blu-ray movies and this is the first time this has happened.

TPM:
V: 7/10
A: 10.5/10 *
Slightly soft picture, *best sound ever.

AOTC:
V: 7.5/10
A: 10/10
Some mild pixel stair-stepping, incredible sound.

ROTS:
V: 9.5/10
A: 7/10
Almost approaching Avatar picture quality, washed out sound; weak LFE, especially on light sabers.

ANH:
V: 8.5/10
A: 8/10
More detail than ever, mild frozen grain, dialog still fluctuates from clear to canned, exceptional deep, defined bass, decent surround.

TESB:
V: 8/10
A: 9/10
Slight noise/frozen grain on Hoth in the snow, with banding. More consistent dialog, exceptional deep defined bass, very active surround.

ROTJ
V: 7.5/10
A: 9/10
Mostly great video, but around 55 minutes in, becomes worse than upconverted DVD for about four minutes, then looks great again. A few garbage mattes, more than the other two, probably. Very consistent dialog, exceptional deep defined bass, very active surround.

HMM that is weird I actually do see the green line in the review. I just popped it my blu ray ANH and took a snap shot. Here it is..no green lines. Believe me these pics dos not do the visuals of the movie justices...the transfer are great.

I'll try Lpcm next time if it happens again

I've had the same problem with same player. I changed my audio setting to "Mix" instead of "Direct". That fixed the dropouts for me but it's very strange that it only happens on these Star Wars discs. I have a co-worker with the same player. He hasn't run into any issues with his.

Well there's the problem.

Any movie will have bands around the image if you have the entire image on the screen. All TVs overscan the image, which means that a few pixels (?) are left off each side, hiding anything unsightly like the green line you pointed out.

This site obviously gets their screens via screen capture softwars, computers don't overscan video, which is why you see it.

It's not really a mistake, because that area of the video was never intended to be seen.

1. Who cares that the Ewoks had human clothes?
2. It's the prequels that don't fit to the original trilogy. Poor writing in the prequels forgot about how Leia remembered her mother.
1. I'd never thought about it until rewatching it and I just thought it was kinda funny.

2. That's what I was saying. If you watch them I-III, that line doesn't make sense.

Agreed.
The primitive, apparently outgunned military force (Lucas’s nod to the Viet Cong) had already been covered with the Ewoks.

Alternatively, if the Gungans had ultimately been revealed to be a tribe of bad ass warriors whose motives for becoming involved in the conflict remain mysterious it would have made for a much more uneasy alliance and introduced some actual tension.

As annoying as Jar Jar is he’s got nothing on Boss Nass - and I’d been so thrilled to find out Brian “Prince Vultan“ Blessed was gonna be in Star Wars…

BTW does anyone have an acceptable theory as to why the Gungan’s Sacred Place features giant stone human heads? I've not.

It still makes sense in the context of the movies even in chronological order.

Yoda tells Luke that "through the Force, things you will see. Other places, the future, the past, old friends long gone."

Leia has been seeing images of her mother through the Force, but she doesn't know that she is able to use the Force and misinterprets the images as memories. Luke had Obi-Wan and Yoda to help him understand the Force and the images he saw. Leia did not.

Your mind probe statement is incorrect good sir. At that point Leia was not Luke's sister, she was simply Leia Organa. Lucas states that she was of strong mind and that helped with her being able to block the probe and that her father had her go through special training.

You cannot place explanations for things that were not originally there until after the fact.

What's your favorite special feature?
