From what I have read, the vast majority of people with audio problems have Denon receivers. I have a Panasonic DMP-BD65 player, and a Sony receiver, and watched all six movies with not one problem.

I'm not sure that the receiver is the problem, though.

Luckily the Complete Saga has a little white piece of cardboard behing the "guide to the galaxy" with the magnetic bar and patch on it, so no damage
I hate those spider tags! Working in retail for 5 years and I cringed every single time I had to put them on products

I have read just about every Star Wars book. My highest recommendation at the moment is to read Star Wars Deceived and Fatal Alliance if you plan on playing the online game.

If you read those two books totaling like 650 or so pages in a timely manner than try the 19 book series. It's fu**en epic, so evil. Great Star Wars, but it is a big investment in time and you have to be willing to fully commit to get the payoff.

Ok,

My turn to chime in.
I watched in order so I started with the PT.We just finished Ep3 and I agree - it's the best PQ of the bunch so far.

Ep 1 - looked good at times and other times not so good - which is a bit disappointing. I guess it's that DNR scrubbing (maybe). But, that said it's 100x better than the DVD so I'm glad to finally own it on blu-ray. And now we finally have a "fixed" Yoda. The kids loved it. Really enjoyed the sound.

Ep 2: Better than Ep 1 and I pretty much agree with what's already been written about the PQ. Better than 1 and not as good at Ep 3. Great sound on all of these. I did like the changes (Ani's mom at the dream scene).

Ep 3: Wonderful PQ - just awesome - certainly the best PQ of the PT and the CGI just looks incredible. Love Yoda, Gen Grevious, the opening battle, etc. Everything is just, perfect. SW on steriods. Love it!

So that's my take on 1-3. I hope to pop in ANH tomorrow and finish all 6 this week.

If you are on the fence, jump in and enjoy SW with the rest of us!

I believe you

It's a bit more complicated I have 2 skinny stands, each shelf can hold about 12 cases, 8 shelves per unit

I have all of the 007 movies at the beginning (under 007), after all of those, i have 3:10 to Yuma as the last movie on that shelf.

Next, I have the Alien and Star Wars boxes, then A-B.

12 monkeys and 16 blocks don't fit in numerically right now lol

I am through I-IV and half an hour into Empire. I have seen nothing wrong with anything as of now.

The picture in PM I thought was good, not great but a little dull. AOTC looked really good, and SITH is the only thing I've seen look that great on bluray except maybe Avatar.

New hope was a solid 4.25/5 pq and great audio. Audio if you are listening to it as loud as I have been has been nothing but perfect on all movies. R2 little beeps, the lightsabers, explosions, ships flying around everywhere. I felt like a kid again a couple time this weekend(with expensive toys)!!!!

the order of my cases don't bother me at all

I try to keep to alpha order for the most part... but I keep steelbooks, digibooks and box sets together, so there are some cases that I just fit in whereever

Hey friends.

I searched and I don't know if it's been posted, but has anyone else had a glitch with The Phantom Menace disc?

Just watching it now, and there seems to be a missing frame as the Jedi are dipping into the lake to go to Gungan City before they are submerged completely. It jumps to Jar Jar popping his head out of the water. Anyone experience this?

Haha I'm glad theres at least one other person who isn't bothered by what order their cases are. As long as the films with sequels are next to each other I don't really care

Although I do try to keep 1 shelf full of cases with slips and my top shelf is mostly Steelbooks + Steel Tins and LE box sets thats about as close to order as my collection gets!

I do need a new shelf though! But I don't have the £50 right now to get one! Which is kinda bugging me coz I got cases lying around all over the place!

Okay, so now nobody can ever have a negative opinion of anything Star Wars related ever, or consider any aspect of it (or any changes to it) to be unnecessary?

You've pretty much proven me right in what I said previously. You will, to no end, defend anything and everything that Lucas does with these movies. It's one think to generally like all of the movies, but to sit here any act like anyone disagreeing with or have a negative opinion of any aspects of the movies (whether they be aspects that were there from the get-go, or something that was changed later) it just inherently wrong just goes to prove that you pretty much refuse to even think for yourself and have an opinion that is even remotely contrary to that of Lucas (or at least contrary to what you assume/believe Lucas's opinion to be).

It's amazing how this level of a favor is never extended to any other filmmaker. At least not that I've ever seen. This whole, "They are Lucas's movies and only he can decide how they should be" crap that is so often used by those who defends him seems to never come up in relation to other filmmakers and films when people express negative opinions of them. Of course you've taken this to an extreme beyond which pretty much anyone else that has been defending him/the PT/the overall Saga has. Because at least most others, when asked, can express opinions of things in the movies that they don't completely like or agree with. You've taken this to the extreme of having to agree with every minor detail and change like a good, proper little Lucas-cult-member. Keep drinking that Kool-Aid!

Seriously (and I'm not even joking about this, because this is what I honestly believe would happen if the following scenario were to occur given your past posts), if for a future release of the films, Lucas decided to replace all of the spoken dialogue in the movies with the sounds of cats meowing, with all of said dialogue instead being written out in subtitles and changed many of the sound effects to the sound of mice squeaking, and many, many, many people (logically) were to get angry over it (both finding the sound change stupid and not liking having to read subtitles the whole time), you would likely come to his defense and would state how much you like it.

You'd probably say some crap like how this change adds so much symbolic meaning to the movies with how the whole Republic Vs. the Separatists (with Palpatine pulling the strings on both ends) leading to the Empire ruling during the OT movies is like a big game of "cat and mouse" and so the new sounds changes are so, so wonderfully fitting for that reason!

And you'd probably go on (like you so often similarly have in response to negative opinions of the films) saying something like how anyone who hates these changes are just crazy and wrong because they are Lucas's movies and he can do what he wants... and that anyone who hates these changes must be horrible people who hate a mistreat cats and that no one who hates having the sound of cats meowing replacing the dialogue should be allowed to ever own a cat, and if they do, someone should call the humane society on them! And that anyone who hates having to read subtitles the whole time must just hate reading in general, and must be adding to the problems with illiteracy, and would probably burn books if given the chance! Oh, and they must hate and disrespect def people, too, who often have no choice but to use subtitles when watching the movies!

I can see it now... "How can so many of you be so mean and hateful towards George Lucas, cats and def people! You should be ashamed of yourselves! You should feel lucky that Lucas even made and released Star Wars in ANY form! None of you deserve it! You can't appreciate the deep symbolism of cats meows coming out of people's mouths!"

Yes, the "Nooo" change was unnecessary. Just because Lucas decided to put in there doesn't suddenly make it "necessary". Do you know how I KNOW this? Because I've fully understood that scene for many, many, MANY years before that change. It's not like I sat there thinking, "DUHHH... Did Vader throw the Emperor in that big vent shaft because he was purposely trying to save Luke, or did his mechanical suit malfunction and he did this involuntarily.... DUHHHHHH." This change doesn't give the audience any information that wasn't already super-obvious from the scene as it previously existed. The only difference is that for someone seeing it for the first time (if they see it in this new form), it may become obvious to them slightly faster (we are talking like a fraction of a second here... not exactly a substantial amount of time) than it did to someone who originally saw it without the added dialogue.

Here's the definition of necessary:

Quote:
nec·es·sar·y (ns-sr)
adj.
1. Absolutely essential. See Synonyms at indispensable.
2. Needed to achieve a certain result or effect; requisite: the necessary tools.
3.
a. Unavoidably determined by prior conditions or circumstances; inevitable: the necessary results of overindulgence.
b. Logically inevitable.
4. Required by obligation, compulsion, or convention: made the necessary apologies.
n. pl. nec·es·sar·ies
Something indispensable.
None of the above definitions applies to this change. It was not "essential". It was not "required". It was not "indispensable". Lucas deciding to change is doesn't make it necessary. The definition of the word 'necessary' doesn't magically change to suit Lucas's desires. Sorry to break that obvious piece of information to you.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but I found a new change in Return of the Jedi today...

around the 1 hour 40min mark, when R2D2 gets electrocuted while trying to open the bunker doors, in the SE DVD, his flaps just open once while after he gets thrown back..

in the Blu-Ray, they flap open and shut numerous times. I just re-checked the SE dvds and the BD to make sure.

*argh, yeah its already been found lol.. what a waste of time that was lol

Yeah, I noticed that yesterday while watching RotJ.

There is a list of the blu-ray changes on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...rs_re-releases

Scroll about half way down the page to where it says "2011 Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray edition".

Some of them are not necessarily completely acurate, such as: "Luke's green lightsaber aboard the Millennium Falcon from the 2004 DVD has been corrected and is now blue"

Also in the old versions he leaked fluid too! But they erased that! Yet in the wide shots in the following scenes you can still see the wet patch on the floor from where the liquid squirted out!

The continuity of the new tweaks is what bugs me the most, not the fact that they were added.

The rocks where R2 is in Star Wars, gone once he comes out!

The door to Jabbas Palace, made to look MUCH bigger on the outside yet once you're inside it's small again!

Thats what lets it down, it's sloppy.

Gray area at best... take out of context at worst. See the example, "made necessary apologies". A compulsion to apologize would stem from having to correct a wrong doing. Somehow I doubt that Vader not having dialogue during that scene constitutes something that would really "need' correcting. If it did, it would have happened back in '97 at least.

The little dancing routine with Donny and Marie make buying the complete saga well worth it.

To be fair, from the inside of Jabba's palace you cannot tell for absolute sure how wide that door gets, there is a curved wall on the right inside looking out blocking the view of how wide the door gets. Yes, you can assume that the door can only be as wide as the next wall curvature, but being that the actual rest of the door is obscured, it could really be that wide.
