The Clone Wars series is amazing to watch.

I could list a thousand things as to why I really just cringe while watching the PT, but why does Yoda simply cut and run with his battle with Palpatine? And why does Palpatine only have 2 guards? The entire scene is god awful poor.

I guess we can dread the day that Lucas can CGI performances onto actors. I can imagine him changing all the characters into mono-toned copies of himself.

I LOVED Palpatine in ROTS. You could tell he was having so much fun with his character. The over-the-top cackling and moustache-twirling as the heroes are all falling around him easily made him my favorite character in the movie.

I agree, he definitely high-tailed it out of there and then hid like a little fraidy cat. And Obi-Wan? He could've saved Ani some pain and suffering by just slicing him up as he laid burning.

Please note: I love the movies, but I enjoy playing the 'what if' game.

Well I finished was the OT this weekend and A/V quality wise, it's never sounded or looked better. I still hate Greedo shooting first, but it looked to me like Lucas tweaked that scene even more, shots being closer together and Han not moving out of the way. I still hate the Jabba in ANH. Overall, the wife and I loved the OT. Looking forward to watching the PT this week.
I did start watching the deleted scenes and there is some amazing stuff. It would have been something if they had done the entire Obi/Grievous chase scene.

Default What after the films?

So what do I watch after I'm done all 6 on Blu-Ray?

In the middle of ESB and know I'll want more. Loving SW more than ever.

I don't get all of the hate for TPM. The movie has so many mini-adventures just like A New Hope. That's what I love about the films...so many adventures in 1 movie!

So what about Jar Jar? 1 or 2 films with him as a character doesn't ruin the rest for me. The battle in TPM is great and so is the Pod Race. Even the travel through Naboo (with the fish) was great.

Loving them all!

I think Lucas made a mistake by not having Yoda and Obi-Wan team up. I can only imagine and play 'what if' like you and see an amazing 2 vs. 2 battle.

Watch them again and again of course!

Love the Pod Race, my favorite sequence of the PT.

Yeah the more I think about it, the more I don't like Yoda simply giving up and hiding on a faraway planet. He just left the galaxy to go to hell.

EDIT: I can't recall now...does Yoda say something to Obi-Wan about going into hiding until the time is right or something?

After watching TPM and AOTC back to back...I've changed my mind..TPM is clearly a better movie... the horrible love scenes with Hayden Christensen just kill alot of AOTC. Natalie Portman can act..He can't..He kisses her like he's going to kiss a wall or the refrigerator door lol... I'm not opposed to love scenes in Sci-fi movies at all...It's just that when they are done poorly...it just ruins it for me.

Thoughts on the TPM... if they just could have edited or never used the useless lol scenes with Jar Jar, cut back on the racist stereotypes and some of the kiddie stuff (not all)..It could have been in my top 3. The story itself is solid.

My wife asked me this..I thought I had read this too...Is Jar Jar shorter now? I saw this in the theater and never watched it much since..

the PQ/AQ on both are just incredible... onto my favorite of the prequels and my third favorite of the franchise.. Revenge of the Sith.

Agreed. At least Obi Wan wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty with the Rebellion once Luke was old enough.

Hell, Yoda still would have done nothing at all if Obi Wan hadn't told Luke to go to Dagobah.

Exactly...to meet the jedi master who instructed Obi-Wan...this would be before Obi-Wan served Bail Organa in the Clone Wars...

You must have missed the point Anakin said himself in the beginning after he cut Dooku's head off: it's not the Jedi way. He knew he screwed that up, just like Mace screwed up when he was going to kill Sidious. Lop the suckers hands off and haul him in and no order 66, and even if his corruption of the Senate and judiciary get him off and even outlaw the Jedi, at least they can make it a fight.

Agreed - I wished they'd have gone at it much longer. If you think about it - Yoda really is one of the major causes of the whole mess. His failure to connect Palpatine with being a Sith, his failure at stopping Anakin earlier, and his inability to decipher who or why a clone army was ordered. I know its easy to say this when sitting here but He could have handled things differently.

Oh yeah - Obi-Wan needed to finish Anakin off. Thats another screw up. Of course, he does that and we have no more movies.

Oh, ok. So it's more the jedi way to leave someone legless, semi-armless, and burning alive than it is to put them out of their misery. Noted.

He had already done the low key, mild mannered Palpatine for almost 3 movies, it was time to be unleashed.

I've got a very simple answer for you - watch the Clone Wars cartoons on bluray. The cartoon has more adult storylines than those prequels. You won't be disappointed if you want more of a Star Wars fix! Start with the Clone Wars movie and then move to seasons 1-3. You can even watch the awesome stylishly bad-ass Tarkofsy cartoon volume 1 & 2 on dvd.

True. On that note, I found it interesting that the lead-up to the deleted Luke-making-green-saber scene from ROTJ that it was made to make Luke's allegiance to the force blurry (in other words, maybe he was Sith now). Interesting concept that could've made ROTJ even better.

They should have immediately gone after The Emperor the moment Obi-Wan met up with Yoda. I think that Lucas painted himself into a corner when it came time to write Episode III and none of his Yes Men were helpful or Lucas just felt that nobody else 'gets it' like he does to come up with something better.

I mean they forgot to film Obi-Wan taking Anakin's saber as they filmed it 3 weeks before opening.

I can understand if the first time you were introduced to Star Wars it was with the prequels and then you watched the OT and just disliked the OT. If you start with Episode I and go in order there are a lot of problems with the story when you reach the OT.

But for the people that began with the OT and then you get the prequels, you have the exact opposite case. That's where I'm at.
