Volume 1: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...condition=used
Volume 2: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...condition=used

Both have awesome anamorphic video and audio quality. You can watch both volumes pretty quickly since they add up to 2 hours. But they are certainly part of the Star Wars stories. There's especially some great episodes with Mace Windu taking out a whole army, clone troopers absolutely kicking ass, and awesome villain characters such as Durge, Asajj Ventriss, and General Grievous - and all the Star Wars characters are so much more bad-ass than in the prequels. The cartoon Anakin, Mace, and Padme characters are much better actors than the actual Hayden, Jackson and Natalie versions!

Just as Mavrik said, watch them in this order:
Then I will watch Star Wars: Clone Wars Vol.1 and 2

Then Star Wars: The Clone wars (2008)

Then Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 1 and 2 and eventually 3.

And I don't even like the prequels that much, so I'm not the type of Star Wars fan that is against everything new and only supportive of the original trilogy. But the cartoons are awesome!

Because you just asked about the cartoons, I now want to watch them right now! (Season 4 started last friday by the way on Cartoon network).

I've yet to see many of the episodes from the newer CG series. But from what I have read the "pilot" as GL called it is kind of in it's own universe and works specificly as a stop gap of the events between Episodes 2 and 3. By that I mean the series of mini episodes starts at the end of the Attack of the Clones movie and events lead up to the battle we see at the start of Episode 3. So it ties in with the films.

But from what I've seen and read about the CG series it doesn't tie in to he movies as well as the "pilot" series.

Maybe someone who has seen all the episodes can chime in with their thoughts?

I've said for years that it would be awesome if GL could release the reins and license SW out to other directors... I'd love to see Nolan, Tarantino, Spielberg, Abrams, Scott, Scorsese, Vaughn, Mann, Ritchie, Coens, etc. unleashed on this IP.

They can consider it "non-canon" or whatever, I just want to see a Tarantino movie about the seedy side of the galaxy, spice smuggling, slave trading, prostitution, uber-violence...

I'd love to see a series of films where the whole force thing is amped up 10x over, and instead of struggling to lift a big boulder, they throw big ships around with ease, jump hundreds of feet in the air, use super speed regularly, the sabre fights are superhuman, etc.

We can only dream.

Heres a better description of the CG clone wars

Quote:
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an animated television series set in the Star Wars galaxy. It debuted on Cartoon Network on October 3, 2008. Set between the events of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, it covers the same time period as the third season of the 2003 television series Star Wars: Clone Wars
So it's actually set inbetween the events of the "pilot" series. which makes sense. So technically they can both be Canon.

Default DMP-BD30 AOTC firmware issue

[QUOTE=DMac601;5223305]Where did you find a Panasonic DMP-BD30 V3.0 update? Last firmware update for this model I can recall was mid-2009. Info would be appreciated. Like you, and many others, I've experienced the AOTC issues with pixelation during the shmi and Yoda battle scenes. Seems to be fairly widespread, but only affecting certain players.

Thanks for the info on the firmware upgrade to v 3.0. Installed, but did not resolve the issue with AOTC disc. Contacted Panasonic directly about the issue, but have received no reply. Recommend all Panasonic users affected by this glitch contact the company - maybe with enough of us raising the red flag, we'll get some results.

I could see a series of short films being produced like this - one like Paris, Je T'aime.

I haven't completely caught up on season 3 of the new series, but the Gendy Tartokovsky (sp?) series had some inconsistencies. Grievous' voice and character are noticeably different as he hadn't been finalized for Episode III. They later decided to go with a much different voice and the infamous cough to make him a little more mustache-twirling.

I think it's funny that Lucas used his own cough for Greivous in Episode III.

In that series Mace Windu force crushes him, which causes the cough....

I remember that. I loved the audio commentary on those DVDs. I can't wait to finish of the commentary tracks on the saga to dive back into those DVDs. I havent watched them since I got my first BD player (my PS3 ) in 2007 so I'm pretty excited!

As you can tell I'm on a major Star Wars hype since the saga came out

Ah, forgot it was covered. I do know that they were only given a picture of him, so maybe they had to account for the cough as Lucas generally ignores any of the materials he's not directly responsible for.

I'd like to see a set of Star Wars films focused solely on the Empire. Beginning from its formation and covering all the way to its destruction. The stuff happening in the OT can just be intertwined, but it should be background info.

Yeah, me too. I'll definitely be checking out all the deleted scenes again. I loved the Prequels Archive disc and I know there's little left of unreleased deleted scenes, but the ones that finally made it to this new release weren't quite as satisfying as I hoped they'd be.

I'm saving the OT deleted scenes for last, so I can see something I haven't seen before.

Yes I know that's the EXCUSE... but that's too much of a stretch to believe. Besides, he's NOT dead... he's just inside the Vader mask. He's obviously still "alive" at the end of Jedi, or he wouldn't change. So that's a bunk excuse.

Not a huge fan of Nolan and hate Tarantino... but I'd love to see a Michael Mann Star Wars lol.

You've got to pay attention to The Clone Wars series timline, some episodes take place before the theatrical movie and others jump around a bit as well. If you aren't paying attention it can get confusing. I was at times but it's a great series to watch and I'm looking forward to the fourth season.

I can see Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi sitting across from one another at a table exchanging pretentious pseudo-intellectual nonsense instead of fighting with lightsabers. I'm already getting drowsy thinking about it.
