They are not statement of anything because 90% of people do not take them seriously, it's nothing more then people foaming at the mouth without reviewing the product at hand, they are just mad cause its not the product they want. I don't call that a review, I call that being silly but to each is own.

I can under every other enhancement, what's the point of enlarging Jabba's door?

Probably just done to match the overall scope of the other exteriors. Not really needed IMO, but it doesn't bug me too much, either.

I started Return of the Jedi last night and I fogot how great this movie is. Loved the whole Jabba hut scenario, Rancor and the escape. Amazing!

When did they add the singing part? Mixed feelings but like all of the changes...very minor deal to me. Just weird.

Loving ROTJ and will finish it tonight!

The yell was fixed, but the trumpets were muted for the DVDs. That's one thing Matthew Wood was happy to point out, when he described what went into rebuilding the sound for "New Hope".

The bigger musical number was first added for the SE in 1997. According to Lucas, he did it because he thought it was funny, having a nonsensical moment in the middle of a "Star Wars" film.

I guess it's a little funny and fun. Love the characters involved but have to say...it could have been a bit more subtle. All of the sudden it turns into the Muppet Show for 3 minutes.

Overall, no biggie. Still loving Jedi! Guess it just adds to the adventures in a different way!

I agree with you, but I am pretty sure George 'The Creator' Lucas will fix anyone's questioning of this scene by dubbing in Luke's new lines:

"I have a mechanical hand! My Father has a mechincal hand! We are both dressed in black! I will turn to evil! Just like my father did! Learning from the mistakes of our elders is one of the morals of this story! Two plus two eqauls four! FOUR!!!!"

Of course, Star Wars is too lite fare to have deep meanings and morals weaved into the story line. Its just popcorn cinema that has nothing at all to say about technology, religion and family. Nope, nothing at all. Also the fanbase is clearly stupid and needs a blade runner style voice over to explain the complexities of its 'Chinatown' style plot.

No. Just no.

"Timeless"? It sounds like a terrible 70's pop number. It sounds like this:

Except that song is actually catchy.

Then you have the awful CGI, the characters breaking the 4th wall by looking at the cameras, the way it's filmed and staged like some crappy music video... just no.

Lapti Nek sounded like some weird otherworldly stuff that would be played in Jabba's Palace. Not a big dumb pop number with a polished brass section that SOUNDS about 20 years newer than the rest of the movie from a sound design and frequency range standpoint.

Wasn't Lapti Nek tossed into the rancor pit because her song sucked? Well the rancor should bu****** the entire Max Rebo band for that atrocity.

I finally got my set from Deep Discount on Tuesday(which is pretty good given their past reputation), so I've only had time to go through the deleted scenes and skim through most of Episodes I & II. Random thoughts:

Deleted scenes - The prequel ones were almost all a waste of time except for The Lost Twenty which I always thought should've been in the actual film to give more depth to the Dooku character and Changes to the Constitution which I also thought could've enhanced ROTS. The Holy Trilogy ones were fun to see, especially the ones from Empire. If nothing else, those revealed how important editing is(something Lucas has forgotten since the release of ROTJ). That Han/Leia argument never would've worked had they not ended it on the "you could use a good kiss" line.

TPM - The transfer wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Sure there was some DNR, but I've seen far worse. Maybe I'm cutting it a lot of slack since the DVD looks dreadful in comparison. The CGI Yoda was a major improvement save for the last shot of him at the celebration. He looks too fake there, plus I missed the smile that the puppet had. The audio was great. The podrace is as always quality demo material. The movie itself still sucks though.

Episode II - I did notice that greenish tint that some had pointed out. The coloring is slightly different than what I saw on the DVD and in theaters(I watched both digital and film versions back in 2002). But it's not THAT big of a difference. Honestly after a few minutes I didn't even think about it. This is nowhere near on the level of Fellowship of the Ring EE. Otherwise the transfer and audio were solid. I hated that addition to Anakin's nightmare with his mom screaming for help. I'm almost certain Lucas added that to distract people from thinking that Anakin appears to be pleasuring himself under the covers(I remember an audience in a NYC theater laughing their asses off at that moment), but it's a lame alteration.

Probably the most pleasant surprise in the set thus far aside from Episode I's transfer not sucking as bad as I was anticipating is that the alien subtitles have FINALLY been restored to the same font used in theaters. Aside from VHS and TV broadcasts, that's never been available until the Blu-ray versions. I wasn't expecting that and I'm glad it's been fixed.

I have watched it 2 and a half times already, and I KNOW that there are details the transfer isn't showing me, due to the heavy DNR.

Just look at the shots of the Podrace announcers, the shot where the woman in white makeup is overlooking the podrace, and one of the podrace crowd shots towards the end, and you can clearly see what level of clarity and detail we could have been in for!!!!!!!!!

I say let's create an online petition to demand a remaster of TPM!!!!

I am confident that TPM could look at least as gorgeous as the remastered Gladiator BD.

Who is in?????

We must do something about this!

They could just send us a replacement disc for that particular movie.

Sure, TPM has never looked better on home video, but it could look so much better!!!!!!

If you are a BD enthusiast, and cannot see the problems with this transfer, may I kindly suggest.....

I'm with you in spirit, dude, if you go back and check my posts over the past 2 days I have railed against the DNR in Phantom Menace, to the chagrin of many a user here.

You make a petition, I'll sign it... but I think as in the case with the FOTR EE green tint issue, it's simply too big a release, and we will be a drop in the bucket. Still, I'm willing to put my name on it. I'd love to see TPM on par with AOTC and ROTS. I'd also love a remaster of ROTS audio to bring it on par with TPM and AOTC. Kind of an uneven set.

The detail is still there. You can still see minor costume details, skin imperfections, and individual hairs on people's eyebrows and head.

So I don't feel the need for a petition. I'm pretty happy with the way that it looks. Sorry it doesn't make you happy, Bluyoda.

And regardless, a petition is pointless anyway. It's not going to change anything. Online petitions never really do.
Actually the DNR really is that bad. Among the worst of any movie I have ever seen from any time period. Absolutely awful for a flick from 1999 with a huge budget.

If you aren't sensitive to such things, if you can't see it, great for you, but this is horrible application of DNR that softens the whole image tremendously and those of us with eyes that can pick it out are extremely put off by it.

Of course you're happy with the way it looks.

Really burn? When the scene that was captured shows a curved hall? We never get to see the entire door from the inside so there is no "burn". We see the same corner of the door. It would be a burn if they shied the entire door from the inside and it was smaller. Ughhh can't believe I got pulled into this pointless debate.

Considering most of those reviews were written and posted BEFORE the set came out, it means squat.
