His anger at this comes out very clearly in his fight with Vader on Bespin. Lucas even details as much, saying that at first, Luke thought he was fighting the murderer of both Ben and Anakin, who had tortured Leia, frozen Han, and was indirectly responsible for the tragedies on Hoth. Even though the scene doesn't explicitly mention it, I think there'd probably be something inside Luke regarding those who raised him as well.
My biggest beef with Anakin's flaw was too much foreshadowing. Lucas' biggest mistake was not in introducing Anakin as a kid (though a bunch of things work out better if he's the same age as Padme or even if both are 17-18 like Luke and Leia in ANH), but in making him a slave.

I expected and would have preferred Anakin to be more good natured like Luke and faced with a moment of truth decision. For Luke, that was when he had Vader down and at his mercy. He's heady with his own power but I never picked up the anger and rage. In fact, in retrospect, I don't think Luke took Owen and Beru's murder near as seriously as he should. We get one moment of... not tearful certainly. Not Hulk-rage like Anakin reacts to Shmi's death. Determined, certainly, but not at all what I would expect from someone who's parents have been murdered and you see their smoking remains. Even if Anakin and Padme were Luke's biological father and mother, the Lars' were his parents.

For Anakin that sent him off the deep end he transposes that trauma to neurosis over Padme. Luke seems to shrug it off or at least bottle it up. I never see pure rage on Luke's face until the final duel in ROTJ. Anakin shows it seconds after Shmi is killed.

While I admire Carrie from the late '70s early '80s, I have a feeling Nat's going to age a helluva lot better.

Carrie fisher is ugly... Nat for me all day every day! Seriously who can be attracted to that ugly fish? Yuck!!! Even that outfit doesn't turn me on. YUCK! I rather see Bob Saget in that than her! She looks like a man which is why I wouldnt be horrified if I saw another male in that outfit.

No matter what. Even if I turn the volume up for my subs through the receiver. It doesn't sound right regarding Episode 3. This is frustrating. I hope there's some kind of recall for this disc. Not happy right now.

I just hope 4-6 aren't like this.

Both Nat and Carrie are very attractive ladies to me. Especially when Carrie was in her 20s.

He did have such a moment, but it was done differently. When Mace prepares to strike down Palpatine, Anakin cuts off his hand in a blind fury...but when he realizes the Sith was faking his weakness, he went into shock, apparently thinking he'd gone too far for the Jedi to accept him. So, in order to save Padme, he became a Sith himself, but everything went downhill very quickly.

Oh, I definitely did. Vader's continually tempting Luke, reading his mind...and then plays on Luke's fears by saying he'll turn Leia instead. At that moment, Luke goes into a wild rage, which only ends when Palpatine urges him to kill his own father.

I think Luke was primarily in shock, and when he gets back to Ben's place, it looks like he's been crying.

Not to worry friendo, A New Hope is quite good, and Empire Strikes Back is EXCELLENT.

When the first occurrence of The Imperial March kicks up, it frickin' blasts you right through the mind, penetrating your very ethereal being, with amazingness. The brass section sounds like it's enveloping your entire world.

I haven't viewed Return of the Jedi yet, but I have heard it's consistent with the rest of the trilogy.

Just III is like that, and though I am sorry for you that you are so disappointed, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's not just "a little lacking", but downright deficient. The amount of folks who claim they hear no difference, or that it's louder, or whatever... I just don't get it. It's night and day to me.

I am going to check for those instances of tinny/lispy dialogue from Jackson later.

ANAKIN/PADME LOVE STORY :

GEORGE LUCAS:

"It wasn't that the writing of it was so difficult. I'd done a bit of writing a love story in American Graffiti, so writing wasn't the challenge. The challenge was that I wanted to tell the love story in a style that was extremely old-fashioned, and frankly, I didn't know if I was going to be able to pull it off. In many ways, this was much more like a movie from the 1930's than any of the others had been, with a slightly over-the-top, poetic style -- and they just don't do that in movies anymore. I was very happy with the way it turned out in the script and in the performances, but I knew people might not buy it. A lot of guys were going to see this movie, and most guys think that kind of flowery, poetic talk is stupid -- 'Come on, give me a break.' More sophisticated, cynical types also don't buy that stuff. So I didn't know if people would laugh at it and throw things at the screen, or if they would accept it."
GEORGE LUCAS:
"Let's face it, their dialogue in that (fireplace) scene is pretty corny. It is presented very honestly, it isn't tongue-in-cheek at all, and it's really played to the hilt. But it is consistent not only with the rest of this movie, but with the overall Star Wars style. Most people don't understand the style of Star Wars. They don't get that there is an underlying motif that is very much like a 1930's Western or Saturday matinee serial. It's in that more romantic period of making movies and adventure films. And this film is even more of a melodrama than the others."

And here's Hayden Christensen on the love dialogue:

"When I first read the script, a lot of the dialogue felt contrived and forced, and I was like, 'Oh, there's no way THAT'S going to work.' But there is a way of speaking in the Star Wars universe, and it is acceptable because it is another galaxy far, far away. Even though the themes are relevant to today, some of the dialogue is not -- it's not supposed to be."

Just look at the shots of the Podrace announcers, the shot where the woman in white makeup is overlooking the podrace, and one of the podrace crowd shots towards the end, and you can clearly see what level of clarity and detail we could have been in for!!!!!!!!!

I say let's create an online petition to demand a remaster of TPM!!!!

I am confident that TPM could look at least as gorgeous as the remastered Gladiator BD.

Who is in?????

We must do something about this!

They could just send us a replacement disc for that particular movie.

Sure, TPM has never looked better on home video, but it could look so much better!!!!!!

If you are a BD enthusiast, and cannot see the problems with this transfer, may I kindly suggest.....

I am with ya on that, but you might as well go in for an online petition to demand an audio remaster of 'Revenge of the Sith' too, due to it's audio botch job on that one.

Right after the opening battle scenes somebody apparently turned the LF way down.

Does Lucasfilm have no quality control?

.

Can you blame 'em? Would you want to watch the prequels over and over and over?

I kid, I kid. Seriously the audio in Sith and the video of TPM are starkly deficient compared to the other movies in the trilogy. I don't see how this could have escaped even the laziest of quality control employees.

Why a petition when probably 99 percent of the public buying these releases don't notice these "Faults" or they are so subtle most would not even care.

From HTF review:

Audio Quality

Episodes 1-3 – 5/5

All of the films have been given a DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1 encode. The prequels were fortunate to be produced during a period when elaborate and hugely enveloping sound design was becoming a primary requirement for any kind of science fiction work. The sound in the prequels delivers massively impressive results in every respect with sophisticated, engrossing channel separations with all of the mammoth amounts of ambient effects necessary for the film’s effectiveness to be maximized. John Williams’ symphonic music gets a world-class orchestral treatment and is greatly impacted by the spread through every available channel throughout the presentation. The seismic blasts in Episode II are particularly impressive in lossless audio. Throughout these three films, the LFE channel gets a rigorous workout sometimes approaching system-threatening levels of bass. Dialogue is always discernible and is anchored to the center channel.

So, is my episode III copy defect then?
