Very well put; I agree 100%. Unfortunately, that didn't stop Lucas from caving to pressure after years of speaking about "his vision", and making Jar Jar the initial "fall guy" for the Empire. Of all the changes that have been done so far, that one probably bugs me the most.

And just like with JarJar his character-arc is mostly finished after the first episode. After he is unfrozen Han hasn't really that much to do except for comic relief... But that's okay because after all the main-characters are Anakin and Luke.

I think Han has a lot to do, outside of the events in "New Hope". He uses the Falcon as a supporting rescue craft for Leia & the droids, helping to hide them from the Empire. He even risks his neck in taking them to Cloud City. He finds and protects Luke on Hoth at night, until the Alliance retrieves them the next morning. After being freed in "Jedi", he serves as a General in the Battle of Endor, and leads the strike team to take out the generator. His relationship with Leia evolves quite a bit, especially when he comforts her while Luke leaves to face Vader. He even starts trusting Wicket, in the last few moments of the film.

I don't like seeing Jar Jar Binks and Han Solo spoken in the same sentence nor being connected to Jar Jar Binks as being similar comic relief characters.

Maul = Vader
Palpatine = Jan Dodonna

But you must admit Han Solo and his love/hate relationship with Leia and Chewie grunting in the background is the comedic counterbalance to the darker themes in ANH just as JarJars and Wattos back and forth with QuiGon and ObiWans snark comments are the comedic backbone to the darker themes of TPM. You might want to pitch one against the other - I love them both!

Ok we get it, you love everything 100% equally, just like your children.

Anyway you're leaving out C3PO and R2D2, I thought it was pretty commonly accepted that they are the comic relief for the whole "Saga".

You do realize he is unfrozen in the third movie, correct?

I can't actually think of a single Jar Jar quote in any of the movies. It all sounds like jumbled up baby-speak full of meesas and yousas.

Han doesn't have that problem.

The greatest thing about this thread that is almost 100 pages away from 2000 pages

And in less than one year! I'm sure thats a record for this forum, if not any forum. And when you count in all the deleted and moved posts, this thread would have passed 2000 pages months ago!

Should be forever remembered as the fastest growing thread in Blu-ray.com history!

Haha

And that threads been going since 2008! Just shows how popular Star Wars is, regardless of if it's because of the hate of the changes or people who just love star wars, it has the most pasionate fanbase of pretty much any film franchise ever!

Imdb is collective opinions of Thousands and Thousands of people ike you and me that just happens to match up with many other "Best of lists" like AFI's.

Beast, just accept that you have a unique taste in movies and the like that most people do not agree with.

In case you didn't know, Teletubbies are meant to be symbolic of the duality of man and the dichotomy of east and west. They are based on Jungian philosophy and are a satire of Marxist ideals, and their creator is a student of Xie Xuang Chu, the foremost Taoist philosopher who lives today.

Their bellies are meant to represent Buddha, their antennae are meant to symbolize the Crown of Thorns.

Teletubbies episodes commonly mirror passages from the Koran.

Actually IMBD is mostly about the popular stuff, not the best movies. That most of them fall into the movies you enjoy, great for you but I can tell you right now that any list of movies where Tokyo Story is not even in the top 200 movies of all times cannot be taken very seriously.

My God.....you actually typed all that out. I hope your eye-bleeding isn't too bad....

Just reading a few of those hurt my brain SO BAD. Hey, you forgot "Peeeyoussa!" How could you forget his finest moment? Where he gets farted on by a space-horse? Oh, and when he steps in space-manure. That was a close second.

I'm not trying to wind you up, but those quotes are terrible. I want to facepalm every time I read one.

Not one of those has a practical application in real life, nor have I ever heard anyone besides you quote any of those.

It's not like Yoda-isms or "May The Force be with you" or "I have a bad feeling about this" that people actually say in real life, and everyone understands.
