Wow talk about hitting the nail on the head. Star Wars belongs to Disco, The Death of Elvis, Jimmy Carter, Reggie Jackson....it belongs to the 70's and should be made available to those that saw it then and treasure it that way it was flaws and all.

And the other two films belong to the 80's and what was happening at that time.

Every Star Wars fan no matter what versions or trilogies you prefer should be in favor of QUALITY releases of all the different versions.
Uh no.

Does A Christmas Story remind people of mullets, Michael Jackson, neon outfits, and lots of plastic bracelets?

How Jackson feels about his films and how Lucas does are 2 different things. Lucas didn't have the luxury of making his 3 films at the same time with digital technology and the ability to release extended cuts with changes he wanted on video within a few months time.

Quality according to who? You? Me? A third party? Lucas? So because I think the Special Edition of Star Wars are good I am not a Star Wars fan? The Special Edition on DVD look very darn good, they actually look better the the prequels on DVD so I have no doubt that they will look amazing on Blu-ray. So in that aspect of quality I am not worry. I am willing to bet quality of the movies and as such (going with what you have posted before) only the original versions will be quality to you? If I disagre and think that the Special Edition are good and I like them, then I am wrong?

I already said many times before, stop complaining here to us, go and complaint where it will matter. Yet you are all back in this thread page after page complaining about the samething. Look, most of us (those who enjoy the Special Editions) would not mind at all if Lucas release the originals. But the trouble is, stop complaining to us. We do not mind the Special Edition, we like them. Go and complaint to Lucas, not here in this thread. We cannot help you, we cannot release the original, only Lucas can. So take your well form arguments and send them to him. Posting them in here page after page will not help you get what you want.

And for going back to quality of the movies, it's all opinion and subjectivity. Take Picasso for example. Most people will say he was a master, yet others will tell you his paitings look like they were done by kindergarden on a bad LSD trip. It's all about opinion. Some people will like it, others won't. But once again, we cannot help you get what you want. I agree both version should be made available in the best of time. It's not us here who are preventing this, it's George Lucas. Send your letters to him. We the rest of us, we don't mind the Special Edition and that is that. That does not make us idiot, fanboys....whatever else you want to call us, we don't mind them and we are ok with it and that is all.

It's gonna be epic when this releases 18 months from now, only including the special editions, using the same master they created for the DVDs.

I would totally buy an original cut of the trilogy if it's restored to the original color timing and gets rid of all the extra garbage Lucas used to test CGI.

I'm not gonna be the sucker Lucas hopes we all are and take whatever they give me though.

The hell? This is a blu-ray forum. It's loaded with people talking about what they want from particular blu-rays. It's not your personal star wars clubhouse.

Once again

Look, relax there and take a deep breath. I am not telling you to stop posting. I am saying that the best way to get results on what you want is to go and complaint to the actualy people who can make a difference on the subject. You do understand that right? Or does even that concept offend you? Or is it that all you want to do is complaint but you don't want to actually do anything to make your complaint known to those that should know of it? Good lord I swear, I think at this point none of you actually care if you get the original on Blu-ray, you just want to complaint and hate Lucas.

Personally I like to complain to the ones who have their bottom lip caught on Lucas' zipper.

And that will never get you anything since we are not the ones that can releases the movies you want.

So in short you just like to complaint to waste your time. In short that is telling me that you don't really care about the originals, you don't care if they get release or not, you just want to complaint.

Complain with your money...don't buy this release.

Star Wars fans are allows interesting. They almost never put their money where their mouths are. I've seen and heard it countless times.

When push comes to shove, the lure of anything new Star Wars always gets the fanbase...

I already know what to expect from Lucas. I had a voice for the DVD release and believe me it gets you nowhere. The DVD release was pathetic and no one can tell me otherwise. I have sources of getting what I want and it is infinitely better than anything GL will put out. Those like me already know the outcome... we are just peeved about it.

Yeah, you've got a HD copy of the unaltered trilogy.

PSST: upconverted LaserDisc transfers are not HD.

The Clone Wars bombed at the box office because it wasn't live action and it wasn't advertised until very, very late.

But, bomb at the box office is a relative phrase, considering that film was ultimately four episodes strung together and made for 8 million dollars. It went on to gross 68 million worldwide.

Bomb? Not really. Lucas got his profit back after that one. And since then, the Clone Wars TV series has been very, very successful.

Historicity is the name for the quality of which Jackson speaks.

Depending on the individual and the circumstances under which he or she first viewed the film, the answer could quite possibly be "Yes." It is neither possible to account for nor invalidate a given individual's associations with a given piece of art or popular culture.

But the historicity of which Jackson speaks is something that goes beyond personal associations. The original trilogy as originally released is the entity that created the worldwide cultural phenomenon that spawned this discussion. The effects were considered state-of-the-art by laymen and industry alike, at the time of their release; the characters and plot and visual rendition of the original presentation *defined* Star Wars until such time as Lucas began revisions. *That* Star Wars trilogy is what changed the face of filmmaking, science fiction, and the world as we know it, and that's why those are the versions of the films in which the national archives have interest.

Certainly it is within Lucas' prerogatives to revisit, revise, make wholesale changes as he sees fit--that's my opinion, at any rate; it's his work, he can do with it what he likes. But his control does not extend to the work's historicist value: tamper with that and there will be consequences...including disenchantment on the part of formerly enthusiastic legions of fans, and that is *their* prerogative.

Disenchantment has been going on for 12 years now. The release of this box set won't change that.

At any rate, Lucas technically gave the fans what they wanted with the release of the Limited Edition of the Original Trilogy in '06. Again, it's not like you can't get the theatrical cuts in some form or fashion.

People act as if they're no where to be found and that's factually untrue.
