Again, one thing is leaving us wondering about more stuff, and another is confusing us with sub-plots that never get resolved (speciall the Sifo Dyas sub-plot, which, could've been an amazing thing to follow throughout the whole movie, even making Obi-Wan a more interesting character).

I don't think II serves other purpose than introduce the Clone Wars, which, the TV series is doing justice, not the movies. However, that movie is really good. Still stands in the bottom for me, but being the worse Star Wars movie (again, Ep. I is in a different league) still beats the today's bad movies.

By the way, anybody feels that Han's voice in Ep. V is a bit off? A bit muted? Or am I getting deaf?

Spinning Empire right now. Sound is amazing. Video seems alarmingly magenta during explosions and what not...

Did he run out of time to shoot it or is he talking about running time in the movie?

Outside of Extended Special Editions with all of the deleted scenes edited back in, I'd like to see these plot points brought back, as well as few of the other deleted scenes that are out there (extended Obi-Wan/Jango Duel extended Dooku vs Yoda - there are pictures of Dooku using two sabers against Yoda), as well as the original cut of the Jedi Masters vs Darth Sidious where Anakin watches the whole time and Sidious supposedly uses Anakin's lightsaber, etc.

I'd also like the original intro with Luke seeing the fight from his binoculars with Treadwell and the first conversation with Biggs at Anchorhead (also Special Editioned up with some flying vehicles in the background, and a Dewback or Ronto walking by, etc)

I just got my Episodes 1-3 and 4-6 box sets. I'm liking the slipcovers a lot....unlike some other box sets where I need to use my fingernails and damage the case to drag out the case from the slipcover, these cases slip in and out of the slipcover with ease.

Wow - Empire is just a beautiful movie. It is to the Star Wars franchise what Pinocchio is to Disney feature animation. Second film, creators flush with success, swinging for the fences, and instead knocking one into the next county. Visually elaborate even by their own standards, every shot interesting and notable, superb performances, iconic music, and at one point, someone winds up in a giant creature's throat.

Its solid but doesnt top A New Hope. Empire is actually my least favorite OT film. The transfer is excelllent though - cant argue there!

You know, that's fascinating. I think Star Wars has a better story and is a complete emotional experience, but Empire has the best direction, best music, best performances, and best overall craftsmanship. They entertain in different ways.

Yeah, Empire is awesome in all respects. My one and only complaint about it are that some of the garbage mattes around the TIE fighters are still not cleaned up. George needs to add bigger doors to Jabba's palace but apparently fixing an FX error is too much to ask.

I'd agree with this. A New Hope is the better story, but Empire is the better film.

Yeah - thats a good way to put it. The other thing is that A New Hope holds a special place in my heart because in 1977 I was 6 years old and that film left an impression on me that Ive never recovered from

Bespin has always been my favorite SW environment. Still remember being completely blown away by those scenes in '80 as an 11 yr. old in the theater. Not to open this can of worms, but I like the SE changes. Makes the place feel more expansive and alive.

Finally got through with the entire set plus bonus materials. LOVE the collection stuff and concept art. Haven't got around to the bonus movie commentaries yet, but overall I am very impressed with the set. Well worth the money I paid.

Default Did these look too good?

Did anyone find these movies looked TOO good? Just got finished watching all of them a few days ago, and a lot of the time, I was thinking "Wow, this looks great!". But some of the time, I could easily tell when the actors were filmed against the blue screen, even though I never noticed it in theaters or on DVD. At some points it even became distracting. Episode I was particularly bad at some points, like in the underwater Gungan city. But even Episode 3 had it's problems, even though it look the best; like when Obi-Wan jumps out of the starfighter at the beginning, and it's so totally and obviously CGI. I never noticed that before.

What do you guys think of this? Do you ever have this problem? I'm NOT anti-bluray or anything, but I would just like to hear other perspectives.

I had the same problem. Felt the CGI was painfully obvious this time around, and I also still noticed Matte lines and such with the OT. The HD showed the limits of both trilogies effects work.
