That cab ride in TPM, what was accomplished with that?
If only we had a time machine and could go back to 1983 to convince Lucas of this... anything after that point really shouldn't have happened in a perfect world. To borrow from John Lennon:

Imagine there's no Prequels, it's easy if you try
No Gungans below us, above it's only sky

Imagine there's no CG, it isn't hard to do
No need for Special Editions and no Jedi Rocks too

If you don't like the films, there's no law that says you have to watch them. So why constantly complain about them like your forced to?

People love the prequels. People enjoy those stories and characters. Why be so extreme and silly that they need wiped from existance because you don't?

Thats the way he feels. Why do you feel compelled to defend them? Do you like them? Shouldn't that be good enough?

Did I ask you? Or are you the one authorized to make statements for him? Or is this a ventriloquist act?

There's plenty of movies I don't like. I don't feel they need wiped from existance like only what I like matters.

Impressive...most impressive.

It's 8th on amazon's bestseller list, so still going strong.

Makes me wonder if we would have seen higher numbers if they had stuck with a Tuesday release.

I'm actually kinda surprised at the sales numbers for the 2nd week. Since the set was cheaper during release week.

Since it was released on a Friday, aren't the first week sales lumped in with all pre-sales? I read the stat more like "Star Wars moves 915,000 units in 10 days".

No, I want a time machine so I can go back and murder the people who came up with The Real World, so I can destroy reality television before it ever began. I'd probably just clip Lucas as I got the Delorian back up to 88 for the return trip home--you know, injure him and change the course of his life forever.

You might want to talk to a professional about those feelings of agreession and desire to kill people. It's not healthy for you.

Hey, I said I'd only clip Lucas. That should be enough.

I may also bludgeon the creators of the cell phone.

Pass. going from SD to 1080p in my lifetime is now more television than I'll really ever need. Plus why would I want to trash what is now a sizeable investment within a decade? If I need to see stuff hi res I go to the theaters, either revival or current.

In fact, imo there are some films that should always be theater only: 2001, Lawrence of Arabia, Zhivago. I really have no interest in those on blu or 4k at home.

Pot calling kettle Black. I remember many times in TDK thread, a movie you didn't like you kept posting your dislike for it. Whats the difference?

Because they lessen the Star Wars name by their very existance? The Ewoks and that laughing rodent in ROTJ were bad enough, but then to have Gungans and Hayden Christensen as Emo Darth Vader as part of the franchise is subtraction by addition.

he did the same thing for the Matrix movies. Was ALLLLL up in the thread trashing Reloaded and Revolutions. Trolling to the max.

Then gets all riled up and offended when people critique his perfect cinematic treasures known as the Prequels. It's hilarious.

1. I never wanted it removed from existance. So the comparison fails.

2. Check again. I only posted 32 times in the Dark Knight thread. And even praised the extras on the set. And answered questions.

Some of you people have hundreds of posts focused on nothing but complaining about the Prequels. And are still posting here about them.

So what if I hate the Nolan Batman films? The argument is nonsensical. I don't care for Gangster Films. Simple as that.

And the current crop of Batman films are less Superhero movies and more Gangster films with Cosplayers. Begins was ok though.

Regardless, not liking The Dark Knight has no bearing on whether someone has good taste or bad taste. There's no such thing when it comes to art.

It will all stop...when we finally get the UOT on bluray. The last high quality release of the UOT was laserdisk. LASERDISK, MAN!! I haven't owned them since letterboxed VHS. I've literally been waiting 20 years to see them in a high quality format like bluray, but no, all I keep getting are re-special editions that get worse and worse with each release.

And don't give me all that jazz about them being issued on DVD. The UOT has never been remastered and released the way it should have been--the way you get to enjoy them with your special editions (with the best sound and picture possible).

In the 80's MTV had this plug that was made famous by artists like Pat Benatar:
"I want my MTV!"

Well:
"I want my UOT!"

That will be the day I stop whining about the "revised" SW universe...because I'll never have to acknowledge it ever again.
