I know is has been asked already but here go's, which collection's should I get The complete saga or episode's 1-3 & 4-6 separately? I have 1,2,4 & 5 on dvd with the original cuts of the 4 & 5 films, I know that the original theatrical cuts are not in here but is it worth a buy?

I really can't think of a convincing reason to not buy the complete saga if you already know you want all the movies. Buying them separately would be mildly cheaper, but you're missing out on all the bonus discs.

this past week - watched Episode One: The Phantom Menace the other day.

PQ was pretty good, not great, tho some shots did look Very impressive - I'd have to give it a 4/5 there. AQ was great, as expected. Easy score with 5/5 on that front.

Will get to the 2nd & possibly the 3rd this week.

Lucas could have written around that in the PT by having Padame live for a year or two after the kids are born. She could have gone into hiding, just making Vader think she was dead. And there are tons of others which have been discussed here ad nauseum.

I just finished watching this 10 minutes ago and it seemed to me like Leia was referring to who she thought was her mother (Queen Organa or whatever her name was) and not Padme.

Luke says specifically "your REAL mother." It's a weird thing to say unless he means Padme. Presumably, he knows she is adopted, or this is common knowledge in the galaxy.

Anyhow, this compared to other inconsistencies never bugged me much. She only remembers images and feelings, which lines up with what Yoda implies about the Force to Luke in TESB and shows her own sensitivity.

like many others I got my set for Christmas decided to watch the OT first. some of the annoying changes aside (R2 & the rocks, krayt dragon, Noooooooo) its still a satisfying set to watch.

think Ill watch the bonus disks before venturing into the PT. im just not ready to face kid Anakin yet.

Maybe because Beru was an Aunt and he knew that from childhood and he was longing for how a mother would be... thats how I always took it

This has been explained many, many times on this thread. The answer to how Leia "remembers" her mother is found within the movies.

"Through the Force, things you will see: other places, the future, the past, old friends long gone."

Without training, Luke is able to see a "city in the clouds" without having been there and see his friends in pain. He is confused by these images and doesn't understand what he is seeing. Yoda explains to Luke, "It is the future you see." Only then, does Luke understand his visions. Without Yoda there to explain it, Luke wouldn't understand what the visions were. Luke is able to see these visions without ever having been trained to see them.

Now, apply all this to Leia.

Leia is strong with the Force but she doesn't know it. She has visions of the "past," and visions of her real mother through the Force - the same way Luke and Anakin (and other Jedi) are able to see "other places, the future, the past" and "old friends long gone." But Leia doesn't have Yoda there to explain to her that her visions of her real mother are "through the Force" so she, naturally, assumes or misinterprets her visions as her own personal memories.

Leia doesn't know that her visions "through the Force" are not her actual memories. She just assumes that they are. So she answers Luke's question accordingly.

You don't have to buy it, and you can call it whatever you'd like. But in the context of the films, regardless of which one was written first, the explanation works and isn't inconsistent with anything presented in the movies. Not every dot needs to be shown connected. I suppose when Vader said, "I feel a presence, a presence I have not felt since..." it should have cut to a flashback sequence showing that Vader was sensing Obi-Wan. Oh...right...but that wasn't shown either is because the prequels weren't written yet.

btw, what use would showing Leia having visions of her mother do? She still wouldn't know how to interpret those visions and she wouldn't have anyone there to explain that those visions are "through the Force" and not her memories. And how would the audience know the difference between seeing a vision of her mother through the Force vs an actual memory? There are no characters there to explain the difference to her or to us.

And if the Force can explain the so-called inconsistencies, then they aren't inconsistent. They're explained.

Who's obsessed? The conversation was about (again) how Leia could "remember" her mother, complete with mis-quotes to support the "inconsistency." I just gave a viable answer using information found within the films. One that can't be disputed with any information found within the films. Because it's not inconsistent.

So because someone asks a question, and someone answers it, that makes everyone obsessed?

A better example of obsessed to me are the ones who have spent a great deal of personal time on this thread to argue how much Lucas and the prequels suck but continue to post here day after day, week after week, month after month.
