Me too lol! They are the only tapes I've kept.
I'm pretty sure my wife does too. I seem to remember running across these when I was cleaning up. Now I just need to remember where they are, since my vhs/dvd combo is still working fine

This is kind of me, to an extent. Of all of the changes, this is the only one that really bugs me. I'm going to watch the SE DVD tonight and then watch the BD(Via Netflix), once my wife finishes watching Clash of the Titans. Reading all this back and forth, I have to wonder how many of those pissing and moaning are actually old enough to have seen trilogy in the beginning?

Even though they have Han shooting first, it doesn't really change anything in the scene except for the aesthetics. Han still intended to preemptively kill Greedo.

The two shots are so close together that for all intents and purposes, they both shot at the same time. He certainly didn't fire in reaction to Greedo's shot. Han's reaction time is probably fast, but not that fast.

I think to some level Greedo was a stalker and Han said no one to many times. Sometimes when a stalker can't have what he/she desires they want to make sure no one else can either. Han had no choice and had to shoot Greedo. It's always sad when relationships end on a sour note.

By changing that scene, Lucas actually made Solo worse.

In the pre-1997 version, Han shoots before Greedo ever fires a shot. Now while some people think this makes Han a "cold-blooded killer", it really made him out to be a man capable of outsmarting what could've been the Galaxy's most dangerous Assassin. But in the post-1997 version, Greedo shoots first and misses. Then Han, who clearly is in no danger of death because Poor Greedo can't hit anything at point blank range, murders him.

So he's supposed to sit there and let him keep trying?

Han had no time to react to Greedo's shot. I think you're forgetting how close the two shots were. Han had already decided to fire before he was even aware that Greedo was shooting.

But it's stupid to have one person sitting that close who should be more than capable of hitting his target but instead misses. The scene was originally intended for him to never fire and should have stayed that way.

Greedo already proved he couldn't hit him. Han could've gotten up and left poor Greedo to shoot at the wall to his heart's content.

Obi-Wan, who has been watching them from the bar, actually used the force to have Greedo miss Han. By natural reflect action Han shoots Greedo. That works for me, I don't want to overthink it I'm sure I'll find a flaw to my theory and ruins it again.

I know, that's my twist to the story. Obi-Wan senses that Han could've been killed, knowing how important he is in the future he went back. Silly I know, it's all in my mind.

Doesn't celebration start today, and they're going to announce some "big" news about Star Wars?

I bought my Celebration VI convention tickets today. I'll be there all day Saturday. Can't believe my luck with the biggest Star Wars convention being right in my back yard (1 hour from Orlando) for the second straight time.

Celebration V in 2010 was amazing. Best convention of any type I've ever been to. The Orange County convention center is massive in size. Anyone else attending this weekend?

Wish Lucas would announce an ultimate Star Wars collection on Blu-Ray with the original cuts in HD. I know... I can at least dream, right?

Has it been said why Lucas changed the Krayt Dragon Howl? After finally watching the blu rays that's really the thing that bothered me the most. Some of the other things at least make some sense, but that has no sense to it at all.

I don't recall hearing any official explanation for it. My opinion is that he probably switched it so it would sound a little scarier for the Tusken Raiders.
