I have a feeling that Jerry Bruckheimer will some how be involved with the new trilogy.

If Disney goes ahead and does that I will definitely be buying that release the day it comes out.

They already have 2 writers working for Episode VII. Impressive how they could keep it a secret all this while.

And we're that much closer to the UOT. Here's hoping Disney will pay more respect to SW than its author.

lol @ you if you claimed there would never be another trilogy

I'm sure it will be in Disney and Fox's best interests to do a huge remaster. I'm sure Fox would release it no problem.

Oh, god no. Let JJ take his compulsive-obsessiveness with lens flare elsewhere.

Yeah, I see all of this as a mostly positive thing. Granted, we'll have to see how good the new movies end up being, but now they might be made by people who can actually write dialog and and properly direct actors.

And if we, at minimum, get the original versions of the OT released, it's all good as far as I am concerned!

The weirdest part about the new films would be them likely having a Disney logo at the beginning of the movies instead of the 20th Century Fox logo.

New Star Wars films that Lucas won't be writing or directing (he will just be a 'consultant' on them). I wonder what Shaft Windu would say about that. LOL

Yeah, people seem to have a hard time understanding what "distribution rights" are and the concept of legal entities. Fox doesn't own anything regarding Star Wars as far as I know. They are leasing the right to distribute the films. Disney is apparently calling the shots with Star Wars from here on out, and if they want Fox to distribute the original versions of the films I'm sure Fox isn't gonna say "no thanks."

I'm so happy to hear this. I also feel much more free to rag on the prequels now that I know we won't be stuck with such pieces of mediocre film. How liberating!

I hope they as use much of the old "original trilogy" cast for this next trilogy seeing as its sets after Return of the Jedi. Mark Hamill...possibly but I think Nathan Hamill can fit his dads shoes perfectly to reprise Luke Skywalker. Harrison Ford can maybe pull off Han Solo depending how big a time frame between the trilogies, same going for Carrier Fischer. Anthony Daniels as C3PO is a must as well as Kenny Baker for R2D2. Hope Peter Mayhew at least comes back for the voice of Chewbacca.
