That's nuthin'! I get together with a few friends once a year for Star Wars Day; Episodes I-VI all in a single day! In fact, this Saturday -starting at 8am- is when we're pullin' it off this year! Can't wait! We usually have it in October (since the first time we did this was the Wednesday after "ROTS" hit DVD), but we just couldn't get a free day for it. (Seems to be getting harder and harder the older we get , but we've yet to miss a year! ) We did it in The Den last year, so this year we go to Corey's place. His television is an LCD and quite a bit smaller than mine, but his sound system blows mine outta the water!

We're all in our mid-thirties, and while some changes in the OT make us , most of the time we're on ! For us, NOTHING is better than "Star Wars"!

Why are you trying to give the impression that he was on the set the whole time?

Lucas met them when they went to England after they shot what work they needed in Norway. Page 41.

This was published in 1980 so you can't claim any revisionist history. I got my copy for my birthday in October that year.

PS: I never said he was on set looking over his shoulder. He had final approval on everything. Big difference.
PSS: Both Lucas and Kurtz did some second unit directing.

No, just being a BS filter. And there's a LOT of it in this thread.

Since when is the common complaint about people who like the PT that they are "blinded by nostalgia"? Isn't that usually the accusation made against those who don't like it and/or criticize it?

The problem is he's sarcastically mocking a charge nobody makes.

In fact, as has already been pointed out, that exact same charge is routinely leveled at those who don't care for the PT.

I am thinking about picking this set up on BF (if it's on sale) or closer to Christmas and was wondering, how are the discs housed? From the pictures, it looks similar to the Lost set. I'm not a big fan of book packaging because of possible damage to the discs (I'm looking at you Alien Anthology), but the Lost-type packaging is at least tolerable with little to no disc damage. Thanks in advance.

Also, I've never seen any of the Star Wars films so this would be a complete blind buy.

It is packaged just like the Alien Anthology set. Sturdy, but dangerous...
and WOW, You've never seen any of them.... you're in for a real treat, at least when you get to Episodes IV, V & VI......... I, II, III not so much. But just watch those with an open mind. And with the recent news that Episode's VII, VIII & IX are on the way....

Thanks! I'm looking forward to finally checking them out.

For some reason, I thought the Alien Anthology was like the Spartacus: Blood and Sand set (as well as the Indy set) where the discs are just crammed into the pages, but it seems it is akin to the Lost set.

is this even worth picking up with the 3D releases coming out + the reboot? Was debating it picking this up last year but now with the announcement I've been second guessing it again... lol

The new film is titled Star Wars: Episode VII, I don't see how's that any indication of a reboot.

No one said anything about a reboot lol, it's an extension at the moment. A continuation.

Good point about the 3D releases, though. Interestingly, AOTC 3D & ROTS 3D are still going to be distributed by 20th Century Fox, so it doesn't look like we'll get DMR points for any major SW release anytime soon...

Lucasfilm own the films, but Fox own distribution rights, Episodes I, II, III, V, VI until 2020 and Episode IV in perpetuity.

Sorry to be pedantic but haven't Disney simply said there will be "an" episode seven, rather than the title will be called Star Wars: Episode VII. As far as I know there isn't even a working script yet, let alone a title.
