Ep. 1 is like a standalone movie introducing Anakin and Obi-Wan, then by watching 4 and 5 you still get the Vader father surprise. Then by dropping 2 and 3 after that you see how Anakin became Vader, then you have the wrap-up in 6. It actually works pretty well.
No. We haven't mixed 'em up yet, but we've talked about doing the "Flashback Order" (IV-V-I-II-III-VI). At the same time, we've gotten used to watching it the way we do (we've been watching 'em this way since '05). Any other order seems like it would screw us up somehow. Wouldn't wanna accidentily skip one!

Keep an eye on 'em when Anakin turns, it'll put a HUGE smile on your face! My son, who's 9, couldn't believe it! His jaw was on the ground! He was also shocked at Palps reveal ("GASP! Yoda and the Jedi are gonna be really mad!"). There are definetly benefits to watching them in numerical order with those who've never seen either trilogies.

While a little bit off-topic, apparently, there is a massive collection of 1,950 Star Wars ac5tion figures being auctioned off. This, you have got to see:

True, Gary Kurtz went downhill and never recovered, he's now a bitter old man, whining and crying.

I don't know, when I sold my blu-ray he can do what he wants with it. But selling a multi-billion dollar company with intellectual properties I would give my lawyer a call and make purchase agreements to protect a few things. If the buyer don't agree, too bad I won't sell it. Did George Lucas really have to sell his company?

Plus, he now owns $2 billion worth of stocks in Disney, he's now one of the owner so he should has some say in the company.

Exactly, how did he not know that. Lucas had already stated that the bulk of the money from that sale was going to be given away to various organizations and charities.

It's my all time favorite movie, tied with Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Does anyone think that out of the OT transfers that The Empire Strikes back is the one that looks the most like outdated video instead of organic film and thus is the one that mostly would benefit from a modern rescan at 4K? I was just flipping through a few of my favorite scenes of it last night and yes it can look very detailed with great colour reproduction, but you can just tell that there is a whole lot more detail in the film that this 11 year old print simply will not show. It just doesn't feel authentic enough as far as a Blu-Ray goes. Does anyone understand what I mean?

Don't know why you are singling out Empire? I just watched the entire saga set over the past few days and I thought Empire looked amazing in every way, especially compared to ANH and ROTJ.

Watching consecutively like that really makes a person realize Empire is definitely the best of the series, and also that ROTS was the best prequel. I also was annoyed to notice just how often the characters say "search your feelings" and "I have a bad feeling about this"...got to be a little ridiculous.

I seem to recall all three look very similar although Jedi looks a slightly bit more murky, but I think that's always been the case with that movie and it's actually source material and not transfer related. Either way, I think all of these would have benefited from new scans especially when you see how good Raiders of the Lost Ark looks. I plan on watching all three of these again soon on my current display (never before seen on it) so maybe my thoughts will change a bit.
