That's why I love Star Wars, you can still be unlocking bits and pieces of the story years later. Then I watch the fireside scene in Clones and feel like hitting my face with a tyre iron.
That's probably one of the worst moments in the entire saga next to the Jar-Jar stuff. It's amazing though how much better their relationship was handled in EpIII with the exception of the "Annie You're Breaking My Heart" line which I couldn't help but roll my eyes at. The Padme's Ruminations scene that takes place just before Mac Windu dies is genius. No dialog, just beautiful, haunting music. You can really feel Anakin's pain.

In response to my earlier idea of creating new artwork for Star Wars covers, I came up with this.

Let me take you through how these came to be...

First of all, I needed my 'hero shots' and came up with these six.

After I removed their useless lightsabers and retouched them, I needed some nice backgrounds.

Not quite happy with IV not being in the same style as the others, I then had to try something different. I also had to remove parts of Yoda and Luke's legs in the background of V.

Now I added some new lightsabers and fixed the back of V by coloring and cloning out Luke's legs and parts of Yoda. I did some Lucasing and edited out the two suns on the back of VI. Also did a new background for IV, by taking the shot of Luke watching out on the horizon and contract it. I used this nice shot:

Now, for the final part, I needed to install the TT I wanted to use along with my movie titles.

With the last part, I added some of the characters surrounding colors on themselves, to make it appear as if they were really standing there, and cut out from elsewhere.

---

So, when I realized that all character shots of Luke for V and VI were useless, I had to create my own.
For V I used the Dagobah shot and added another head.

VI is whole other story. No character shots were of useful quality, so I did what I didn't wanna do, but it turned out very nice. I used an action figure and added a headshot of Luke.

---

Now I really feel I created something new for Star Wars. And now on to the backs!

Excellent work. Have you tried a serif font for the Roman numerals? I think it might look better, just my two cents.

My only critique is that Luke's lightsaber should be behind the text on the Reurn of the Jedi cover.

Thanks for all the inputs. Here are some updated versions.

For this, I've added clouds in the background, gave Anakin and Tatooine a color overhaul, added some kind of sandstorm at the bottom.

Anakin got a yellow tint to go with the background that has been recolored.

Removed all purple in the background and retouched it with black color. Added some fire sparks. For both versions, I added some blue color just on the top of Anakins head, to make it appear as if the lightsaber is really there.

Change the wholoe color layout, removed alot of grain, added clouds, gave Luke some warm colors to mix in with the back.

Recolored a lot of Dagobah, fixed some errors I made when attached a new head to the body, added a lot of fog.

Added green color on the side of Luke's head because of the lightsaber, played with the colors and added a touch of white behind Luke.

Dude, that's one of the scenes which is so good it's worth putting up with the rest of it. Anakin's goodness basically dies in front of our eyes as he faces up to his destiny. And later on we get the complete polar opposite to this scene, when Anakin goes full retard as he rants at Obi-Wan on Mustafar. "You will NOT take HER from ME!"

But isn't being a spoiled, self indulgent brat what Lucas was playing at anyway? There isn't one well thought out act by an anakin in the entire prequel trilogy. The push to get across that he was a different path than most Jedi by constantly going againsist the beliefs and instructions of the Jedi order was so detrimental to the character that I'll even argue that if he was played by a different actor you would of had the same results. And he is by a voice actor on the clone wars and is still written poorly. That is one of my complaints... all we are ever shown is that he doesn't listen or think about anything longer than his initial thoughts. Anakin just wasn't a redeemable character. His flaws were as he was written and not anything else. Just listen to the commentary on episode III. That's proof enough.

Part of the problem is that Christensen, at least in these films, is devoid of all charisma and charm; he should've been the Han Solo of the prequels, but the poor writing combined with his bizarre monotone of a delivery (which was apparently modelled on the way that OT Vader spoke, ignoring the fact that he was speaking through a ****ing rebreather) fatally undermines the character.

He talked that way in Jumper too. I think Christensen just has the emotive capability of a thimble.

I'm guessing none of you on here are wanting to sell off your Saga??

I got rid of my BDs in favor of a UV library, but titles like this still elude me, yet I can't bring myself to pay anything over $45-50ish for a transfer I hear is comical.

I wouldn't call them comical, but the OT has very outdated transfers, Phantom Menace has been given a noticeable DNR scrubbing, and Clones is just plain soft (as originally shot). Sith is the only one IMO that has good PQ by objective standards.

Does anyone else get annoyed to hear so many people misquote the Vader reveal? Everyone says "Luuuuke, I am your faaaatherrr." But Star Wars fans know the line is actually "No, I am your father!" It kind of bugs me to hear people say it wrong

It's annoying to find that most people mis-associate their worship of ESB, with that one line.

Well that gives me hope haha...I've pretty much given up on buying anything electronc or media-wise on eBay. The market is too hot, and people end up paying close to retail on even used stuff 90% of the time.

Most sets were going for close to $75...or at least will be when the auction ends.

I need an Amazon DOTD!

Agreed, the best line is easily: "This may smell bad kid, but it'll keep you warm."

Well, made an offer on someone's set on eBay and landed it for $50 even, free shipping! Can't wait to watch all these again. It's been too long since a Star Wars marathon
