As a kid growing up in the 80's and into the 90's, watching these over and over on VHS, I never made the connection that it was Obi Wan making that noise to scare off the sandpeople. It just always came across as some weird noise that happened at the same time he showed up, and it was the mere presence of Old Ben that made them run away.

Every subsequent change to that sound over the years has just reinforced in my head how poorly that story point is conveyed.

1) If it really angered you, and hurt your experience, then WHY would you post it for even more folks to be "spoiled"?

2) If you think this is a big spoiler - then, I urge you to not view the web without a filter blocking everything Star Wars, and avoid all printed publications, television shows, etc. Because, it's gonna be a loooong year and a half, and while I am actually decently confident there will be some surprises kept, there also will be a lot of promo out there. And don't even look at any speculation - because, for instance, there is discussion in this very thread about a character death that absolutely no official information has been given about but quite a number of us have made educated guesses about that I am pretty confident we will see.

This reminds me of a discussion some friends and I had with this girl in between Episode II and III being released. We were talking about all the things we assumed had to happen - Anakin gets burned, becomes Vader, the droids have their memories wiped, Padme needed to die, etc...and this girl FLIPPED out that we were ruining the movie for her. Apparently she had not put together that Anakin Skywalker was Darth Vader, and that Padme was their mother.

Ay yi yi...LOL.

Wow, that's pretty sad. It was pretty much spelled out by halfway through Episode I. This is why turds like Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean make lots of money while masterpieces often times lose money. J6P has to be spoon fed it seems.

1a - Luke? Mentor-Death Syndrome?
1b - Han? Cause Harrison wants it?
1c - Chewie? Cause of the books?
1d - Anakin Solo? Cause of the books?

2 - My cousin and I were talking about the TV guide covers and how much the characters resembled each other. It was really well done with the Lenticular Images.
Luke/Anakin
Padme'/Leia
Ewan/Sir Alec
And it was Mother's Day just before RotS came out and we had a huge family get-together and we were talking about it and his sister yells at us for discussing the movie when they haven't even seen it yet when all we were doing was talking about how much everyone looked like they really could be related.

There needs to be poll. Which would you rather see for all eternity: Richard Simmon's balls or Jedi Rocks?

I always assumed it was Obi-Wan, but it still never made any sense. Was he throwing his voice? Was he using the Force? Did he have a little voice box with prerecorded sounds on it?

I'm actually surprised there was never some stupid video game that incorporated Obi-Wan's monster noise as a "Force Power". I'm not a fan of the EU or the games and I always thought it was ridiculous how they would take simple, one time occurrences from the movies (Vader blocking Han's shot with his hand, Luke jumping up out of the carbon freeze chamber), give them proper names, and say that these are "Force Powers" that all Jedi can do.

Now there's an idea! They could CGI Richard Simmons into Jabba's Palace as the Force Ghost of the slave-girl ...

I think Richard Simmons would fit well between Hayden and Yoda.
