Star Wars (no such thing as a New Hope): Most Important film that can stand all alone.
The Empire Strikes Back: Best Story but is totally killed if you consider the PT at all.
Return of the Jedi: Good film but George Porgie went the way of the muppets....and miniature teddy bears. Would have been better if they would have gone with Kurtz idea of the Wookie World.

The Phantom Menace: Maul, Only memorable music in the entire PT, Qui Gon, are all pluses. Binks, BS Midichlorian Story, too much screen time to a Ben Hur homage are all negatives.

Revenge of the Sith: (Silly Film) not much better than Clones
Attack of the Clones: Just and utter piece of garbage that could hardly eek out 310 Million domestic. Just pathetic for a Star Wars film. Bad jokes and worst love story I have ever seen. These two had no connection or chemistry whatsoever. Lucas likes to hire other directors he should have hired whomever did the Notebook or any other director of a Nicholas Sparks film!

A New Hope - Agree, it's just a fun viewing experience, EVERY time
Empire - Love the darker tone, and the Hoth and Bespin sequences are very cool
Sith - Easily the best of the prequel movies, A few minor gripes aside, it's a pretty good film
Jedi - Even though it has the Ewoks and kills Boba Fett, it's still better than the film that introduced us to Jar Jar Bink, and Attack of the Clowns
Phantom Menace - Ok, so it DOES have Jar Jar Binks, but it also has Darth Maul, who is marginally cooler than purple-sabre-wielding Mace Windu, hence by default, Menace>Clones
Clones - A few decent bits, but far too many that had me reaching for the vomit bucket

Star Wars
Empire (very close second)

Sith (this used to be roughtly tied with Jedi but it's inched up a bit)

Jedi
Phantom Menace (the bad stuff doesn't completely overshadow the good stuff the way it used to)

Clones (I was always a little surprised at the hate this one got but I pretty much get it now. I still love Kamino and the seismic charges and little bits here and there but I really don't care for it overall anymore)

With Pixar, why shouldn't Lucas consider it his company? He founded it. People really need to get off the Lucas hating wagon. You may not like what he did but it was his choice to make. You pay to get a copy of his vision, not for him put out what you want. Does it suck? Hell yes but that's how it works.
I'm no Lucas hater and I'm not even a PT hater. But Lucas sold Pixar over a quarter of a century ago and it wasn't even yet making films when he owned it. So is it proper for him to be "proud" that he started Pixar? Sure. Is it appropriate for him to consider it "his company"? No, not at all. It's not his company.

Yeah, even though I chose Return of the Jedi as my least favorite, I still love it. Like I said, my order could change weekly, if I ranked these again next month, Return of the Jedi could be my #1!

Talk about a reality distortion field. Jobs never said he invented the GUI, mouse or portable MP3 player. Jobs always acknowledged that the basis for Apple's GUI for the Mac came from Xerox PARC, which many love to claim he stole, but for which Apple paid a $1 million licensing fee. And Jobs never said he invented the mouse - his mandate was to produce a one-button mouse that was inexpensive to manufacture. And it's obvious that there were portable MP3 players before the iPod.

Even as late as 1994, Jobs contemplated selling Pixar to other companies, among them Microsoft. Only after learning from New York critics that Toy Story was probably going to be a success and confirming that Disney would distribute it for the 1995 Christmas season did he decide to give Pixar another chance.

Jobs got lucky.
That's not luck. That's making intelligent business decisions based on the information you have at the time. Lassiter gives plenty of credit to Jobs and it's been frequently reported that Jobs' management of Pixar mellowed him a bit and he was far more hands off than he was with Apple, but not distant, as he frequently attended meetings there.

I've always had a theory that Jobs, Gates, Zuckerberg and people like them have borderline Asperger's. This permits them to have relentless focus and accomplish great things, but also makes them immune to the feelings of others. It also explains some of the arrogance, especially from Jobs and why both Jobs and Gates went through periods in their lives when they didn't take very good care of their personal hygiene - Jobs because he thought if he just ate nuts and other natural raw foods, he would not generate body odor and Gates because he was too busy to think about it. Gates was famous for showing up to a Newsweek (or maybe it was Time) photoshoot with a ripped sweater and sweat marks in his armpits. Jobs mellowed a bit after NEXT was a failure, when he ran Pixar and as he developed a close working relationship with Jonathan Ive, and Gates mellowed a bit after he got married and since he retired from Microsoft and has been running his foundation.

However, I disagree with your assessment that Jobs "stole" ideas. As I wrote above, it's a myth that Apple stole from Xerox Parc. They paid for that intellectual property and heavily modified it to turn it into a successful commercial product. What Apple has stolen on occasion are trademarks.

In any case, the Jobs haters make Lucas haters seem rational. Love him or hate him, Jobs created the world's most valuable brand and the most successful consumer products company in spite of constant heavy criticism like the following, just to list a few:

John C. Dvorak, 1984:

"The Macintosh uses an experimental pointing device called a
'mouse'. There is no evidence that people want to use these things. I
don’t want one of these new fangled devices."

The Economist, Feb 1995:

"[Apple] seems to have two options. The first is to break itself up,
selling the hardware side. The second is to sell the company outright."

former Apple VP Gaston Bastiaens, Jan 1996

"Within the next two months, Sony will acquire Apple. … Sony will be the white knight who will step into the picture."

Michael Dell, October 1997:

"I'd shut [Apple] down and give the money back to the shareholders."

Hiawatha Bray, Boston Globe, 1998:

"The iMac will only sell to some of the true believers. The iMac doesn’t include a floppy disk drive for doing file backups or sharing of data. ... The iMac will fail. "

Michael S. Malone 10/5/2000:

"Apple R.I.P."

Cliff Edwards 5/21/2001:

"Commentary: Sorry, Steve: Here's Why Apple Stores Won't Work -- New retail outlets aren't going to fix Apple's sales"

Bill Ray (Mobile) 12/23/2006:

"Why the Apple phone will fail and fail badly"

Matthew Lynn 1/14/2007:

"Apple iPhone Will Fail in a Late, Defensive Move

John Dvorak 3/28/2007:

"Apple should pull the plug on the iPhone. Commentary: Company risks its reputation in competitive business."

Christopher Versace (Fortune) 11/6/2012:

"The Trouble with Apple's iPad Mini"

So Lucas then? Seriously though trying to find yall''s connection between Lucas and Jobs. What is the discussion who was better/more important with regards to Pixar?

1) Empire Strikes Back (ever slight edge over A New Hope)
2) A New Hope
3) Return of The Jedi
4) TIE - Revenge Of The Sith & The Phantom Menace
5) Attack Of The Clones

It should be noted The Phantom Menace has aged better with me. Five years ago I had it 6th in the list by far, but EP II and III (especially II) have really dipped.

1. Empire (unaltered) 9/10; (altered) 8/10
2. New Hope (unaltered) 9/10; (altered) 7/10
I have a feeling this is where Episode VII will end up.
3. Jedi (unaltered) 7.5/10; (altered) 6/10
4. Phantom 6/10
5. Sith 5/10
6. Clones 3/10

I like all the films for various reasons, even "Phantom Menace". My top two are probably "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Revenge of the Sith". I really like "Return of the Jedi" as well, but Lucas inserting that ridiculous musical number for the Special Edition drastically reduced the film's overall quality. I hope Abrams and Kennedy don't pull anything similar with Episode VII.

If I really had to choose, which I don't, I would put it like this:
(Like wwe have never done this before )

1.Revenge of the Sith (The ultimate SW film to me)- the most emotional and powerful one
2.Attack of the Clones - the most romantic and love the detective story
3.The Empire Strikes Back - the most spiritual one
4.The Phantom Menace - the grandest return
5.A New Hope - the funniest and the most magical one
6.Return of the Jedi (It has lots of great stuff going for it, such as the space battles, and the end duel, but the Jabba palace puppets diminish it)

I have to say that I am a visual effects fan, so clearly the prequels are lightyears better than the OT.
