I would assume they would be correcting this with the blu-ray transfer

Was listening to the Forcecast recently and Jimmy Mac mentioned his "blow up the Death Star" on New Year's Eve tradition. He figured out that if you get A New Hope ready, and pause it immediately -- the timecode needs to be at zero -- if you start the film at exactly 10:02 and 48 seconds, the Death Star will blow up at exactly midnight. I think that's pretty sweet. I wonder if the Blu's will have a different running time, depending on anything being added or subtracted.

Not everyone is a hater. I loved all 6 Star Wars movies and cannot wait till the box set is released.

My favorite Christmas gift was the sweet Darth Vader t-shirt I got(or second next to my Deadwood box).

Oh, okay. I just want to be clear here - even though most of the people you are talking to have never complained about the prequels, Lucas, etc. (there is a difference between discussion and complaint, and personally I have stated many times that I certainly don't hate any of those things, but I am concerned about the state of the original Star Wars negative which is in trouble right now) - that it's the critical posts that aren't okay, not the topic itself.

So again, it's not really "off-topic", it's "I disagree so I'll label it off-topic". Gotchya. Thanks for being so up front about that, saves us all a lot of time.

Although I'm sure any transfer isn't going to satisfy everyone, I think most of us will be happy with what we can have on that one because of the way it was filmed.

It's funny that in some ways it's the most criticized of the prequels but I find it much like the original Star Wars. There are parts of the original Star Wars that are essentially "boring" themselves. Personally, when I watch them alone, I have to admit I skip much of the Luke on Tatooine stuff. It's just not anything I need to watch over and over. For me, it's kind of the same with the Luke on Dagobah stuff. If I'm watching it with other people I wouldn't, but alone I often like to bang through all three in a day so I'll skip a few segments here and there.

TPM is a lot the same, for example (although on Blu-ray I might feel differently) I don't need to watch the Pod Race every time. (Hehe, maybe it's whiny boys on Tatooine I don't like LOL.) That said, I actually like more of the political nature of TPM - it's a nice change from the relatively static nature of the struggles in the other films (territory, contested, battle, rinse, repeat).

What I'd like to see most on the Blu's is a way to program your own chapters. I've seen discs that do that (mark your favorite parts, whatever method they use), but this is one of the very few releases I'd actually care to see them on and would definitely use them regularly.

You've got it wrong once more, just like your out of context sig:

I just watched all the trailers of the SW prequels!

Man, I seriously cannot wait to see the whole SAGA in glorious HD with ear-deafening lossless audio!!!

Can't we just fast forward to October already. I would sacrifice one year of my life to have them on BD right now!

OK, I am kidding about that, but I am so psyched about the release!

It's going to be the very best day for Blu-ray ever!!!!!

I'm almost positive they won't be. First of all, and I might be wrong about this, but aren't the special features in 720p or 1080i? The clips of the Clone Wars episodes don't look nearly as good in the bonus material as they do in the actual episodes. Plus, those docs were produced at least six months ago, and the Blu's aren't out until this fall. I'm sure they're working on making them look better as we speak.

If it is the Blu-Ray announcement and details, it'll be a day long remembered.

"Thursday, January 6th at 11:30 AM PST Panasonic Booth #9408."

Hmmm...

The Panasonic Booth.

Why do I have the feeling that this just might have something to do with 3D?
