The announcement will start with the trademark breathing and then the stormtroopers will come out and then Vader will come out they will try to make it look like ANH when he first appears.

They will show off the actual blu ray quality of the movies in the teaser at the end of the teaser it will reveal the release date after that one of the stormtroopers will hand Vader the actual blu ray sets and he will then show them to the press he will give details and price.

There will be ALOT of press at this event cameras flashing all over the place.

That is sorely needed. We're not talking about replacing him in V and VI. The Episode I puppet looks bad.

Add to that the fact that (if they announce a price at all) they won't be announcing a street price - they'll be announcing MSRP and an MSRP below $30/movie seems really unlikely.

But yeah, it certainly would be nice. Hell, at that price I wouldn't even complain about having to buy RotJ or TPM.

If he includes the Original versions, they should be in the proper original widescreen with the original audio track (4.0 or whatever). There should be zero changes, and no new 5.1 remixes. If you want original, you should get original.

Anyone wanting original PLUS also wanting "cleaned up mattes, fixed sabers, 5.1 etc" should be shot.

there's been talk of lucas doing this for quite a while.

why they did a puppet in the 1st place is beyond me.

The most logical and non-probable solution to this is to add the OT to each of the Prequel Trilogy's corresponding discs via seamless branching in which we would get the OT scenes but with the "updated" effects all with the true masters of each film. So whatever sound mix is contained on the disc for the "Prequel Trilogy" will be what we get for the OT being viewed via the seamless branching.

However since Lucas does not concede to the logical solutions we will probably get the OT remastered in it's original form with a 4.0 Dolby TrueHD track, no updated VFX applied. I'd certainly be happy with that.

Agreed on the price point. I was anticipating closer to $120-135 (or $20-22.50 per film) which is where the Alien Anthology was at on a per film basis. I hope I'm wrong.

$90 is possible if it drops around Christmas, so $15 a movie, especially since George knows how much people hate the PT.
