I hope they are doing that, as the ROTS Yoda is my favorite by far!!!!!!
I wish they would take out the CG Yoda and replace the whole prequel trilogy with the original Empire Strikes Back Yoda. Wouldn't that be hilarious and awkward. I'm only joking of course, but I would admire Lucas if he actually did something like that.

I don't know about that. You don't hear a whole lot of mono Dolby TrueHD tracks. Now you do hear more LPCM mono tracks, and if that's what you mean then yes! I'd take that. But, the only mono Dolby True I've ever heard is Falling Down, and it wasn't very good. I've heard more DTS-HD MA mono tracks.

I firmly believe, besides the 3D releases, that this is actually it.

Lucas kind of confirmed that when this set was initially announced. He made an off comment about milking the fanbase with these video releases. From what I remember, he seemed to indicate that this indeed was the last time...the definitive.

Go buy it at midnight, get up early the next day so I have a solid uninterrupted 12 hrs after my kids go to school, and start watching the movies at 8am. I know i'll skip alot of AOTC and ROTS in terms of the Anakin / Padame crap.

Here's an idea (although not possible in a single day)-
1. Watch TPM and AOTC
2. Watch the Clone Wars Cartoon Series Seasons ( i am guessing there will be 3 of them available on BRD by then)
Season 1 = 503 mins = 8.5 hrs Season 2 = 484 mins = 8hrs
3. Watch ROTS
4. Watch the Original Trilogy

So this would have to be a 3 day event for me:

Day 1- Watch TPM, AOTC, Season 1 of Clone Wars = 12 hrs
Day 2- Watch Season 2 and most of Season 3 of Clone Wars
Day 3- Watch remaining Season 3 Episodes, ROTS, then OT
You really should try to get your hands on a copy of the first Clone Wars cartoon series. Never released on Blu-Ray, but much better than the current one, in my opinion. Of course I also prefer it to just about anything having to do with the prequels.

Yeah, it seems weird. The wait for Star Wars on dvd seemed like forevvvvver, while Indy and BTTF came relatively quickly. Hopefully we're not waiting until fall 2012 for Indy.

I'm surprised if for no other reason that there's already an Indy movie available on Blu-ray. Why not release the original 3 to complete the set?

Plus 2011 is the 30th anniversary of Raiders whereas the next one for Star Wars isn't until 2012(the 35th anniversary of the first film).

Still surprised they didn't release all 4 movies together as a set, makes you wonder if there's something wrong with the old ones. George was waiting for sufficient market penetration to release SW, guess he got it.

My money is on Lucas trying to add sequels to the original trilogy. Apart from authorized novels written by the likes of Timothy Zahn, Lucas hasn't really gone that way in any hardcore fashion has he?

Isn't there another indy movie in the works? If so, they may wan't to release it along side it.

Either way, the indy boxset is probably coming in 2012 or later.

No he seems to be tired of SW so I would imagine the next SW films will be made after he passes on, assuming his children allow it.

There are several factors we haven't seen the Original Indy Trilogy yet. This is pure speculation of course, but:

1. Star Wars is a priority for Lucas, esp since he has his "market penetration".
2. Spielberg has been working closely with Paramount to bring the majority of his films under the company's helm to blu, so Lucas feels Spielberg can help get the Indy project done right. Then, once SW future on BD is set, he'll focus his attention to Paramount and Indy for his approval.

I expect that we'll here something about Indy within the final months of Spring. I expect that Indy will accompany SW in 2011 with a complete set, possibly during the Holiday Season, if not early 2012. That is if Paramount doesn't surprise us with an announcement in the coming weeks/months about a mid-Summer 2011 release. After all, it's been unofficially announced for so long, and that's better than being 'rumored".
