I personally thought Phantom Menace looked great in 3d. I saw it twice. The first time they screwed up the projection. I drove and hour and a half each way to that theatre as it was RPX and I wanted better sound but the screen was blurry and after repeated complaints they didn't fix it. Got 15 free movie tickets after my corporate complaint. Never went back there.

The second time I saw it closer to home and it looked spectacular.

People who saw episode 2 said it looked way better than 1 in 3d. I want to see that and episode 3 really bad.

Just imagine the exponential increase in workload that would come with it. Sleep, what sleep, there's no time for sleep, there's thousands of posts that still need approving.

I have been part of websites that did this for all new users.
It was a 10-15 post approval limit.

It kept out the spam and bots and the riff-raff.

Don't think there will be an announcement.
Maybe a very, very, slim chance of a stand alone annoucement on May 4th. I still think the best chance of a new disc announcement would be in July at SDCC.

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim still has the rest of the day plus three more days to go. (Not saying we'll get the UOT announcement even then, but...)

I was watching the live stream from Celebration 2015, and had a 20-second glitch right when Oscar Isaac was about to discuss his character Poe Dameron. Who saw the stream and can tell me what he said?

Personally, even IF they announce the UOT at this convention I would NOT expect it to happen during what was obviously the Ep VII presentation. Perhaps later to play off "Chewie, we're home" in the trailer? (My own WAG, not even a real prediction.)

I'm going to be honest here. I'm so stoked at Episode VII right now, I'm not even going to be disappointed if they don't announce an UOT at this thing. It'll come eventually, even if it's not in time for the new film.
