But,
not as bad as the 2011 version
plus, it has a proper case this time

Original poster art , on the front , is that so hard ?

Actually , I'd prefer the original teaser poster artwork on the front
Heck , just a black cover with each title in yellow Star Wars font would do

All a TV will do or rather all my TVs do is give you the option to display Wide and stretch vertically, so you lose the subtitles.

For some reason only a few of my DVDs work with the feature (I only have a budget Sony), but the result is very pleasing.
Oh wow...I didn't know that. I have a Sony 3D DVD player, and the LE DVDs. I might have to try this when I get home.

I was watching Ep III last night. God I love Star Wars. "You were my brother Anakin!" I choke up every time the scene comes on.

I'll be sticking with my 2011 boxset, but those steelbooks are nice.

I have a self commandment I must follow with Blu-rays: "Thou shall not upgrade unless it's an improvement in picture quality - and/or maybe audio quality."

I have yet to buy Star Wars on Blu-ray, so I'll likely buy this new repackaged boxed set.. since I REALLY didn't like the original book packaging. I also e-mailed Amazon about getting said release a new listing so that I can actually pre-order the thing. kthnx.

Only v1.0 (which is in HD 720p, but in AVCHD format and file-sized for DVD). Still looks fantastic though, and is better than anything else out there by far.

KK650's versions are worth a look

Yeah he does impressive work but I'm not a fan of the PT at all so his regrained Phantom Menace and its color tweaked sequels don't really appeal to me (I'm sure they're great in terms of technical work, but I haven't seen his versions. Lipstick on a pig, and all). I've seen his OT work but I'm more on the purist side and he doesn't do theatrical preservations/recreations. I prefer the original trilogy as it was seen theatrically and don't care for any of the SE alterations (like the CG explosions and countless other changes he kept intact). He just removed the most egregious changes (Greedo shooting first, new Krayt call, Jedi rocks, the Ghost of Hayden, etc.) Still, I agree, his work is very good and worth checking out.

If you're player is new enough you should get the feature, it might be limited to the mid-high-end of the Sony ranges, but I would have thought it would be included with the 3D players.

I've only got it to work with Flash Gordon and Blood Ties, 2 non-anamorphic TV series released by Contender in the UK, but the results are impressive. I was hoping to watch The Abyss, but it just displays in a window-box.

Good luck with your player and the Star Wars DVDs.

+1. I recently found an LE of ESB at a liquidation store and watched it, came up windowboxed on my bdp s550, and even without zooming it was blocky and looked digital. I have the Definitive Box set, the 1996 THX set, and the SE box set. I agree the lasers are smoother looking. My next big purchase will be a projector. Can't wait to watch my original trilogy on a big screen!

Fox uses UltraViolet and I doubt I, II, III, V, and VI will have DMA codes since these are Fox releases (I'll be even surprise if IV came with a UV code).

Too bad they didn't release the complete set in a steelbook. That would have been the perfect opportunity to just have "Star Wars" on the front cover.

Star Wars "Noir" series 13 x 19" giclee prints, numbered edition of 125, going live at 12 PM from Bottleneck Gallery. There's also a B&W Variant of each (50 available). $35 each, or $125 for a matching numbered set (Variant is the same price). These look amazing to me.

I went to buy them at 12PM. Added them all to my cart, was checking out, and it said:

"There's an inventory problem with your order."

Every one of them in my cart was now marked as "sold out." It was 12:01 PM.

Guess my mouse clicking skills just don't cut it. Ahahahaha, oh well, at least I saved myself some money I guess. Those do look really friggin' good though, especially the Vader one (and I never buy stuff like this unless I really dig it, I think I've bought prints from Bottleneck only 2 or 2 times in the past.)

Yeah, I would was thinking that would happen when I read how limited they were above. Too many Star Wars nuts that sit by their phone or computer like a fly waiting to land on a roast.
