Who else is having a marathon before TFA?
I've got tickets for the SW Marathon at the Santikos Palladium on the 17th. All 7 movies back-to-back, starting at 4:00 a.m., with the new fancy schmancy bulb-less Barco Laser Illuminated Projection, Dolby Atmos, and large format screen. Menace, Clones, Sith, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens, projected by lasers. 15 minute breaks between each. And when that's over, my wife and her mom join me for my second screening of SW7 at 9:45 p.m. Eight movies, 20 hrs. Then I sleep for a day. And then on Sunday morning, I'm taking my nephew to see The Force Awakens on IMAX 3D.

The scenes play fine after I rewind and watch them again, though.
This only happens with the Star Wars discs, and, as I mentioned, other Blu-rays have no problems.
Someone else mentioned this exact same issue with these Star Wars discs on the same Samsung model in the Blu-ray Players forum. In both instances, our firmware is up to date. Strange...
It's just a minor annoyance, though.
Problem solved!

I returned my Samsung BD-J5700 at Target, and replaced it with a Sony BDPS6500.

I watched The Empire Strikes Back on the new Sony player yesterday, and it's all good.

For some reason, the Samsung player was having trouble with 20th Century Fox Blu-rays in general, because I experienced the same type of random screen lags with my 25th Anniversary Blu-ray of Home Alone a few nights ago.

With the new movie weeks away, I would have thought Disney would have taken advantage of all the Star Wars hype and released the Original Theatrical (non Special Editions) on blu-ray, they would have made a ton of money because all the fans want them.

Oh well, maybe they will do it in time for Episode 8.

I'm undecided if I should purchase the $90 Star Wars complete Saga for the special features, or just keep my two trilogy blurays. I probably would watch the special features at least once, not sure how.many times more. But, I also like the individual trilogies because it has the bluray/dvd combo. I'll probably never use the dvd's, but I like the idea of having the option if I don't have a working Blu-ray player in a room. The downside is the individual trilogies have no special features except for the commentaries.

Any thoughts or feedback? I'm a lover of special features in movies, but I will admit that I do enjoy the Star Wars movies, each of them, but I don't love them. Any collectors here once have the same predicament as me? What did you settle on, the bluray /dvd combo or the special editions with special features?

I also guess a few years down the line Disney will have an ultimate trilogy with all 9 movies with all the special features included?

I never bought the big box set, in fact I still haven't bought the OT on Blu-ray. The bonus material for the PT was on YouTube not long ago, I'm sure the other material is out there somewhere. If you're that on-the-fence about it then no point in blowing your money on a set that (hopefully) will be obsolete in a few years if the UOT gets released.

Are you watching them alone or with friends/family?

Lends itself to it, doesn' it?

I don't know. It's not that fascinating a topic IMHO.

That's pretty sick. Sweet lord!

I remember watching TPM 6 times on its first day of release. The midnight premiere, and 5 times the next day. (It might have been 5 times, incl. the midnight showing.)
I wasn't even tired.

Wish you a great time.

It's your continuous trolling of the thread that offends me so, sir, but thanks for totally missing the point of my post anyway.

Wait, because I actually like the films and state as much that is trolling?
Oh, I'm sorry I guess I didn't receive the memo that it's a "bash only" thread.

Again, clearly I'm waaaay in your head. Probably best to just place me on ignore if my posts bother you so much.

It was sent out right after the memo about how it's never OK to end every post with an emoticon.

Hope you checked with the theater first to make sure they even allow costumes.

I'm planning/hoping to watch all 6 movies between now and the 18th when Ep VII comes out, time permitting. I'll try to get Eps I and II in this weekend if I can.

My wife and I went to Disney World for our anniversary a few weeks ago. While we were there, we got these really cool SW couples T-shirts (pictures are below). We wore them on the day of our anniversary, and we are going to wear them when we go to see The Force Awakens...
