Haha...me too. I think I'll just get the despecialized editions. My LD player is boxed up at the moment from a move.

I'm just saying, supposing Fox wanted to still distribute those films. Yes, Lucasfilm owns them, but Fox distributed them since day one. They should have a choice whether or not they wish to continue distributing them.

If they still want to distribute them, then they should pay LucasFilm for the privilege. Since that's never going to happen, they should go count their Avatar money and focus on not pissing off James Cameron before he jumps ship to Disney, too (especially after Disney successfully courted him for Ghosts of the Abyss, Monsters of the Deep, and the in-progress Pandora section of Animal Kingdom).

It's one of the new gizmos, it's similar to the methods used in repairing damage that's on a few frames. They go backwards and forwards with matching frames (as grain changes frame by frame) to extrapolate the information and not lose any of the detail, which was inherent to earlier digital noise reduction methods.

Yeah, but for all we know that was done just for the digital versions (it's like how the digital version of Ella Enchanted doesn't have it's custom Miramax opening) and when I talked to Disney when the digital versions came out, they understand and they're working on it (meaning, I'm sure they'll pay Fox a fee sooner or later).

They have taken leaps and bounds from the DNR that ruined their Laserdiscs, to what they can do now

Personally think Cameron overstated how much "DNR" was actually applied to Aliens and everyone else is taking it as gospel even though reality is probably less magical.

I think he was spot on because that's exactly what Lowry do (albeit in a very sophisticated, expensive way) but the point is that he didn't mention how they regrain to the customer's specifications. And lately they've been doing a DAMN fine job of it IMO.

was any movie missing from the digibook that you bought?

what happen to me 2 years ago bought boxset used fye 98.78<-had christmas money bought it in jan i didn't really look at digibook to check see if any of the discs was a missing until i got done with revenge of the sith turn book to a new hope i notice i had 2 copys freakin attack of the clones no star wars a new hope bluray idiot that i was decided well i just go walmart buy 4-6 bluray throw away 2nd copy of attack of the clones put in a new hope into digibook threw away empire and jedi since i didn't need to copy's of those blurays

my advice if your missing a movie in digibook just buy 1 of the steelbooks ditch 2nd copy star wars a new hope bluray and put the missing movie in digibook

I love how they color correct and alter effects at their own desire. It's nothing more than a fan film at this point. No different than the abysmal Phantom Edit and other shit. The 2011 Blu-ray is official. Deal with it.

The shitty 2011 edition is much more of a "fan film" (with its only fans being Lucas and the small band of Kool-Aid drinkers like you) as compared to the original films than the Despecialized edition is. Deal with that.

That depends on if you think that the George Lucas seen from the mid-90s onwards bears any resemblance (other than mere legal identity) to the filmmaker who created the OT between 1973-1983. The preponderance of evidence clearly indicates otherwise.
