If anyone wants to know where his name was taken from, it's from this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044072/ ( see cast list )

Good Question. They're arguably 2 of the greatest film trilogies made.

1. Raiders of the Lost Ark (10/10)
2. The Empire Strikes Back (10/10)
3. Star Wars (10/10)
4. Temple of Doom (8/10)
5. Return of the Jedi (7/10)
6. The Last Crusade (7/10)

For me:
1. The Empire Strikes Back - Aside from good story, I loved the visuals on this one when I first saw it
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark - Such a fun adventure, never dull
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Temple of Doom
5. Star Wars
6. The Last Crusade

There is a recent audio goof that has really started to annoy the hell out of me when I watch The Empire Strikes Back.

After Luke cuts off the Wampa's arm he begins to stagger out of the cave into the snow, deactivating his lightsaber as he goes. The sound of the saber deactivating occurs but the saber is still completely active.

Wasn't that on the DVD? ( Or is that what you mean by recent? )

Thats a '97 SE change. You're right it is a little annoying. Anyone also notice that in the original cut when Luke cuts himself free there's a bright flash but in the SE the flash is gone??

I hope they release the originals. Around Episode 8 would be great. It would be stupid not to.

Not disagreeing with you, Galactus, but I do wonder about this.

Lucas made no bones about the fact that he felt the amended/enhanced/whatever-word-you-choose versions were the ones he wanted people to be watching. Die-hard fans feel differently (some of them, anyway), and more recent fans probably don't care or feel the more effects-laden versions are better anyway. I can't imagine that Disney would countermand all that on some artistic/purist basis.

So, that leaves the idea that they would do it solely as a revenue move. I wonder how many sales the release of the original OT would result in? (Genuinely wondering, because I personally wouldn't know how to even estimate it.) Would they feel it was enough to justify the murkiness it would bring into the whole issue? I'm inclined to doubt it. At least, at the moment, there's a definitive line drawn, and they can leave it at that.

Well, 2017 is the 40th anniversary of A New Hope. So, if we don't see them sometime next year then I am going to start to worry on the OUT.

I'm sure at this point Disney/Fox/Lucasfilm aren't gonna ignore the opportunity.

And again, the original theatrical editions of the Prequel Trilogy too, please.

Does anyone know if the original cuts of IV-VI exist in good condition somewhere? Do they belong to Lucas?

Hopefully Mike Verta will update us after he meets with Disney later in year.

Yes to the first question since it's according to John Landis, 4K remasters are currently planned.

If this was true, they would have to be extensive 4k restorations of existing elements and probably collectors prints as well.

Since there are no "official" audio mixes of the OT due to the extensive tinkering by Ben Burtt of the Dolby Stereo and 6 track mags during their original theatrical runs, I actually wouldn't mind Dolby Surround and full Dolby Atmos remixes on the same discs.
