This is why I rarely use Amazon. Most of my pre orders go to Play or HMV for BD's as they ship the wednesday/thursday before a monday release wich 9times out of 10 gets to me by saturday. Where as every pre order from Amazon has gotten to me a day or two after release. In that case I would have been better off going to get it from a shop
![]() And Re: the image, I dont see how they messed up the Lightsaber detection in the re-mastered editions when in the originals it was fine. |

I ordered the whole set. I'm not too worried about him not including the originals. I have every version ever put on home video. I have the original VHS's, a Beta copy, the original Laser Disc set, also some other laser discs, the DVD's and now will get the BD's. It's all good.
When the get released in 3D I will buy those too. I'm a Star Wars Crackhead, what can I say. An I still have my memory of seeing Star Wars on the big screen in 1977 when I was 15. Nothing can change that. ![]() |

Again, if you want to waste $5 dollars for no reason, go for it. Not once has Amazon ever been late for a new release (or even a scheduled shipment) for me. Btw, Amazon sells other things BESIDES movies; I buy everything I can from them; vacuums, lifting equipment, my kids toys, food, ect ect. Not only do they usually have the lower price, but their CS is amazing. |

Let's not forget there are already HD versions of all six films available for tv broadcast, in fact here in the UK our ITV channel is about to show them.
When I last saw them they were identical to the most recent DVD releases, so I'd imagine they are simpy HD versions of those. What comes out on blu-ray later this year is NEW. They are probably not even finished yet as there is still 6 months till release. No point arguing this early about what these films are going to look like. It's just the same old arguments about the same old movies. You'll get what you get. Like it or lump it. For me, Han shot first, otherwise, I've no particular problem with any of the changes and I don't care about a few colour issues on the sabers. If you're going to get picky about that then Lucasfilm need to add reflections to the Kenobi-Vader fight in ANH, last time I checked they cast a shadow not a reflection. In TPM they reflect on the shiny floor. But honestly, so what! |

I know I am
![]() Does everyone believe that the original film elements are gone forever? Destroyed? If Lucas doesn't want the original films released in an optimum video format that is his choice, but it just seems like an excuse. Most of Lucas' generation of film makers are avid supporters of film preservation and it would seem odd that Lucas wouldn't have decent film elements for his original theatrical presentations of the Original Trilogy. In an age where many films like The Magnificent Ambersons etc are missing from release etc, most have to agree not preserving these films for any type of future release would be shocking. The box set as announced is a great release, however it could have been insane. I just felt a bit letdown. Yeah I still have my laserdiscs of the original films, and the 1997 Special Edition Box Set. I also own the last DVD versions that contain the Bonus Disc Special Feature of the films in 4:3 Letterbox (non 16:9) Which makes one wonder without proclaiming it it could be that the originals are part of the release (although still in standard Def? although a 16:9 upgrade would be nice) Longshot I know but just a side thought. I like aspects from each version of the films through the years, it just seems sad that there is no effort to give fans all the versions of the original films and the 1997 Special Edition versions. I know many could care less which version that gets released, but wouldn't it be cool to have all versions available? The BLU-RAY set is really cool but not impressive. Impressive would have been all film versions. I guess to end on a positive note, the packaging while probably not finalized looks classy and simple. ![]() |

Maybe I did misunderstand- I thought somewhere someone said: Amazon Prime costs $79 for an annual subscription It gives you Free 2-day shipping (versus the free standard shipping you always get) By getting free 2-day, it also guarantees arrival on (or in some cases before) release day If any of that is untrue or I misquoted, then yes I did misunderstand. But now that the thread is so long, I am not going back through 20+ pages to find it. If I am quoting the terms correctly, then the $80 annual subscription, as I interpret it, upgrades you from free standard to free 2-day and provides a release day delivery guarantee. So I view it as the $80 covering amazons increase in cost from standard to 2-day, just like when shipping charges increase when you change selections during checkout. If you order movies every week, then yes in several months this pays for itself. If you get a movie once every so many months, then it isnt worth it. And, I have comparison shopped and never noticed Amazons prices to be that different, if at all on release day. Example:Machete 21.99 on amazon / 24.99 in store (i have a receipt to scan) 3 bucks. And that isnt a major release. Things like Avatar, Pixar Films, Star Wars, typically are priced more competitively. |

You cant imagine what lengths spouses will go to to hide assets from the other party in a divorce. So I dont believe it, but he has to stick with it if he doesnt want her to get paid.

Also, with Amazon Prime there is no minimum for free shipping. Non-prime members must spend $25 or more to get free shipping on their orders.

thought id chime in.
will be orering now while i still have prime. i think its funny (like the lotr thread) how people get thier undies in a bunch. i saw star wars twice in the theater when i was a kid. grew up with it. i have no problems (no major ones worth complaining about anyway) with any of the films. sure i would prefer the untouched original to be included so i have a choice when i watch but im just thankful that we dont have to wait several years for it to be on blu like we did for dvd. |
