Anakin just killed a bunch of random kids and then kind of redeemed himself later.

Ben killed his father - Han Solo. That is irredeemable.

At least we've seen Anakin become weary of the Jedi order, become desperate to save his loved ones, and become seduced by Space Hitler. Kylo is evil because....gramps did it too, so it's p cool.

I avoid trailers, TV spots, posters and most internet sites that I know will post spoilers.

uhhhh, does one buy the digital versions on itunes or just wait for the blurays where I can own both the physical and digital copies?
Thoughts?
I know they are teasing the possibility of a 4K original New Hope out there with what the Rogue One director said, but errr, I wanna watch em and refuse to buy the blurays without the digital copies. And yes I would re-buy the despecialized too.

That would be funny if Disney released the original unaltered trilogy and called it The Despecialized Editions on the packaging.

No SW Sith had ever worn a mask just to look cool or intimidating.

I am one of the few that has never cared for Han Solo. I guess he is the most relatable to many due to the fact that he is a regular Joe, so to speak, but that's not what SW is about for me.
He is little more than some comic relief to me.

Also, Ford's acting in ROTJ beats all the supposedly bad acting in the prequel trilogy. So phoned in, it's cringeworthy to the utmost.

I thought seeing him in TFA was funny because he was the fossil he had made fun of in ANH.

There's no such thing as a perfect movie. The reason you think it's perfect is the same reason others don't.

I may not agree with everything Lucas has done and I think my bitterness towards him has diminished somewhat in recent years but I'm grateful that he made the Prequels. I'd rather know what preceded the originals than not knowing at all. The fact some think he shouldn't have made them puzzles me. You'd rather not know what happened??

My main criticism for Lucas has mainly been his refusal to let the OUT and the SEs to coexist with each other. Not much else but again Lucas is an artist and artists will be artists. I never have nor will I criticize him for giving us the Prequels. I was utterly pleased with ROTS when I walked out of the theater despite its slight mishaps and it remains my favorite of the PT.
With Rogue One just hitting theaters, I decided to revisit the Star Wars movies and watch them in episode order. I found myself enjoying the prequels more than I remember liking them in the past, but I do agree that they're flawed. I do still like Revenge of the Sith for how it moves the prequel story, but I couldn't help but think that it felt a bit too rushed. I thought that what all happens in the last hour of ROTS should have started earlier in the prequel series.

I thought that ROTS looked great on blu-ray, but Episode 1 and 2 -- particularly Episode 1 -- haven't aged well at all. The CGI looked very fake, and at times I felt like I was watching an animated movie. If the prequels are released on 4K, would it even be possible to upgrade the prequels, or would they just be 2K upconverts? For all of the revisions that Lucas has done, I probably wouldn't mind if he updated the prequels' CGI to make them look more like Rogue One and Episodes 4 - 7. However, the look of the prequels does separate them from the movies that take place after the rise of the empire, so, in a way, it does seem fitting.

@KenHurd Regarding the look of TPM: It's mostly the DNR that the BD is plagued with. I really hope we will get a remastered DNR free edition of this movie in the foreseeable future.

Interesting. How many people did Anakin kill again?

Ever read Oedipus Rex? Oedipus kills his own father, and he's a tragic, sympathetic figure, forgiven by the Gods after his years of suffering and self-mutilation by the time Sophocles wrote Oedipus at Colonus. If you believe Lucas' unused draft passages for Sith, Palpatine is Anakin's father, so Anakin killed his father, too.

What you're missing is that Ben Solo/Kylo Ren are at war with each other. Kylo Ren *wants* power and strength and control like Vader, but he cannot overcome his family history and the pull to decency. It's fracturing him. Yeah, he murdered his father. He did it thinking it would finally push him over the edge and make him complete. I'm calling it now. It doesn't. It will only add to grief and guilt and a desire for atonement.

You mock this character and call him laughable...it's pure Star Wars.

So was my dad. Was stationed in Japan, flying F-4s during the last days of Vietnam. Never had to see actual combat, thankfully. Go Adam. Never knew he was a Marine.

Rex didn't know that the person he killed was his father. Nor did he know that his new wife was actually his mother.
