And that's exactly why they didn't put one on AotC or RotS. In retrospect, LucasFilm probably felt that they pulled back the curtain so far open with "The Beginning" that everyone could clearly see that the George Lucas of the late 90s was a farcically diminished version of the once-great filmmaker of the mid-70s to early 80s. Watching it, I can now imagine how Dorothy felt when the so-called "Great and Powerful OZ" turned out to be this guy:

There's actually a lovely article that spells out how illuminating "The Beginning" was far better than I can.

"Within A Minute" on ROTS was the best they could do. It was annoying, I could never get to the end of it.

Doesn't the ROTS DVD have the web series stuff? I can't remember how comprehensive those were but they covered different parts of the movie IIRC.

Seriously? That is one of my favorite documentaries on the disc!

It also explains why there wasn't a proper feature on TFA bluray/dvd. It'd be footage of JJ saying "Well, this was cool from Episode 4...I liked this part too...okay, cool. Now we'll add in some of Episode V and VI. Done."

Had to share this. Recently on "Jeopardy!" the following $800 clue was offered in the category "Ghostly Actors":

A new "Return of the Jedi" ending unfortunately had a ghost played by Sebastian Shaw replaced by this actor.

I love the inclusion of the word "unfortunately" in the clue! It's official, even "Jeopardy!" hates that change!!!

Conspiracy theorist says "ABC is the in the Disney Family.... Jeopardy said "unfortunately" meaning they hate the change... we therefore must look into this with far too much scrutiny."

Haha, that's funny!

IMO the change wouldn't have been so bad, and may have even been tolerable, IF they had not used an ultra creepy stalker b-roll take of Hayden looking like he wanted to do bad things to Luke, AND if they had aged Hayden with makeup, cut his hair, etc. so he looked at least sorta close to the same age as Alec Guinness. But at that point, might as well keep Shaw.

Honestly my biggest problem with that is how is Luke supposed to know who that is? He has no idea what his dad looked like as a young man. At least Sebastian Shaw is recognizable to Luke in some capacity.

Maybe he senses through the Force who it is? Or maybe it's basic deductive reasoning, meaning who else would it be?

Also, if Lucas was going to add Hayden force ghost to what at the time represented the grand finale of the entire saga, he might as well have thrown Qui-Gon in there too. I mean, why not? As long as there's a party going on, shouldn't all the ghosts have been invited!!!

Teasing, of course.

Why not go the extra mile and throw CGI Yoda in, too? Looks better than those ghastly puppets.

Just too bad that poor Mace Windu didn't get how-to-be-a-ghost lessons before he took his fateful sky-diving trip out the window.

No it isn't.

You are confusing your own opinion with both fact* and with everyone else's opinion**.

*You cannot say why Lucas decided on a certain type of making of feature **nor claim to know what every other viewer thinks when looking at them.

You perfectly entitled to hate/criticise the prequels, Lucas, etc. however it is madness to claim your views as fact or that "everyone" shares your opinion.

Because Qui-Gon can't manifest as a spirit. He hadn't attained that level of enlightenment before he died.

Sure, Clones has the web docs too, as does Menace. But they don't come close to how insightful TB was.

I would also like to know why young Annakin's Force ghost manifests wearing an outfit he's never worn before. I get Lucas's intent, even though I disagree with it, but man, sloppy execution. (Of course, I could counter argue that we never saw Sebastian Shaw in "traditional Jedi garb" either, but that would just start me down the road to the Dark Side...)

Gripes and nitpicks and mistakes aside, I still love these movies above all others, warts and all.

I have refused to even consider buying the Complete Saga after all this time because I've been obstinate about owning the original unaltered films.

But after all this time and for $58, my resolve is really starting to waver...
