Really high scores for TFA...

Picked up the OT steel books on sale today, really look great. A lot better than the digibook with all 6.

Since we are still hoplessly waiting for the UOT, I thought a "compromise cut" of the OT would be quite nice. Kind of like the Final Cut for Blade Runner. You know, it has updated SFX, erases some goofs, adds or changes a line, or a matte painting here and there, etc. But it is all done so seamlessly and effortlessly, where it blends perfectly with the rest of the movie, and there is not one instance where this stuff pulls you out of the film or disracts you in any way or form. It actually enhances the film and the viewing experience/pleasure.

So what if this was done to the OT, too? New and entirely consistant lightsaber effects and colors throughout all 3 films, updated SFX for some of the weaker puppetry and updating the weak CGI, i.e. at the City of Clouds, keeping some(!) of Lucas' alterations for the SEs (not all of it is bad!!). You know, really try to enhance the films, but not overdoing it. Just like they did with Blade Runner. I could live with that until they give us the UOT, if that ever happens....

I believe there should be UOT and a "final" cut a la Bladerunner

the 97, 2004, and 2011 SEs should be erased from history.

There is the Star Wars Revisited saga being made that does exactly that.

So in this scenario they're not freeing slaves en masse, they're just letting Anakin know that the rules everyone else follows don't apply to him?
No but it would show Anakin that the Jedi try to do the best they can instead of hiding behind bureaucracy as soon as their own needs are met.

Naaah...go the complete opposite. Replace all the characters with sock puppets and dogs and cats in costumes just to drive people bonkers.

Well, he also selflessly stepped aside and stopped competing with his best friend for his sister's affections.

So there was that too.

STAR WARS: THE FINAL CUT
[Show spoiler]
Still wouldn't be as awful as Lucas' last round of changes. I'd rather watch a dogs and cats version, claymation version, ****ing cave painting version than the last dreadful digital facelift.

Yep, sock puppets would look better than CGI Jabba and Jedi Rocks. Of course walking in on your parents having sex isn't as bad as Jedi Rocks.

Jedi Rocks I can take (I'd bite your damned hand off if you offered me a decent HD transfer of the 1997 versions), it's the Artoo Rocks which piss me off.

George should add a dance number to Episode IV called Artoo Rocks. It would be similar to Jedi Rocks except it’s a bunch of robots dancing around rocks.
