That's what I was thinking. I'd rather not request that though. A month ago I complained about my Sgt Pepper's deluxe box set, as it came with no cellophane or any protection on the lenticular box front cover and the boxes of the Blus they tossed in with it rubbed hell out of the lenti. Amazon offered a one for one or, 20% rebate. I took the rebate.
I don't want to build a rep as a "complainer" with these folk so I'll just live with the broken spindle in the Star Wars box for now (and save my bichin for more dramatic incidents, heh). The discs are fine, so it's not that big a deal. It's not like I'm opening and closing it everyday...

edit: I've also got the complete Star Trek Next Gen box in the pipe so I may have bigger issues to come! heh

If you don't want to be listed as "a complainer" about damaged cases, stock up on a supply. Years ago, my account was suspended until I made it clear that I'd bought new cases of all types, from them. Now I buy standard BD cases 50 at a time - and smaller #s of 2-6 disc cases. It won't help you with specialty items, but at least all my "regular" BDs are in nice, shiny homes - and no more of this alligator skin business.

Don't want to derail the thread but thought I'd quickly mention, UPS just dropped off the Star Trek Next Gen set.
Box was twice as big as the product so it bounced around like a ball inside.
Now, we are VERY MUCH in winter here right now so the plastic sleeve holders took a beating. About five discs loose but being Blus, no scratches.
The retainers, not so good. Again, not enough damage to request a replacement but it's frustrating.
Perils of online shopping in a nutshell I suppose.

Those were the good old days. When everything came in an actual box instead of those bubble mailers or cardboard sleeves.

Sorry if already posted but Walmart has new artwork for the movies:

IMG_3058.jpg

Vader = EDIT: "6-Movie Collection"
Yoda = PT
Stormtrooper = OT

EDIT: all movies come with some kind of "Exclusive Bonus Disc." Dunno what it is.

Weird that they are calling the Vader package "The Complete Saga" still. I would have thought they would have changed it since... well... you know.

I ordered both Star Trek The Next Generation Set and Star Wars Complete Saga sets from Amazon.ca.

The discs in the Trek set were fine, but the plastic cases were shattered to pieces, they literally fell apart in my hands when I pulled them out of the sleeve. I returned that set for an exchange.

The discs in the Star Wars set were also fine, but yeah, that spindle thing in the metal is completely destroyed and unusable, making it really difficult to open and close the case. I was thinking of using replacement cases with custom artwork for the Star Wars set. Does anyone sell those or do I have to make my own?

Dang, that's the exact trifecta which was used on the 'Faces' Laserdiscs, I know that was for just the OT and not the almost-complete saga but still, you had Vader, a Stormtrooper and Yoda.

What's perhaps a lil' bit more interesting is the redesign of the banners at the top, that shit be Disney all the way. You didn't happen to get a look at the copyright notices on the back?

I have the TFA and RO steelbooks from Best Buy and I am fighting the urge to run down to Wal-Mart and pick both up because of the nice slips. The other three...nah.

Are the Despecialised Editions still the best way to watch the unaltered OT?

I have the Silver Screen Edition sitting on an external somewhere but haven't yet gotten around to watching it.

Cuz it's kinda far and Walmart sucks and I've got other things to do and apparently there are wildfires that are making traffic a nightmare.

I took the picture and posted it to let people know. That's as much as I'm willing to do.

Yes.

Speaking of, wouldn't it by funny by next when Disney acquires Fox, both companies will announce a new box set containing the unaltered versions of the original 6 films...and in 4K?! :P

Frankly, I'm okay with the alterations made to the Prequels.
