Agreed. And if that's not an option then the altered releases in release order is fine too.

I'm not a huge PT fan overall but to the (somewhat limited) extent they work at all they really do rely on knowing what's ultimately coming.

And a first-time viewer is likely to be less distracted by the various changes.

I just want to give a shoutout to the best and most under the radar addition to Return of the Jedi.

I’m theatrical cut 4 life, but I always miss this shot when I watch it. I feel bad for Wedge just standing there holding his helmet, not getting any love. That one shot goes along way to making him seem more significant in the OT. Ugh, why was that not included in theatrical cut to begin with?

As much as I detest most of the SEs additions, I actually did like that moment as well.

Episode I and Rogue One are the two most disposable SW films to date.

I like that they almost look like they're about to kiss instead of hug.

The thing is I really like Rogue One! The Phantom Menace has some big time story structure issues and the dialogue is as stiff as it gets. But it does have some good sequences like the Light Saber duel at the climax and the pod race. But both are not essential to the overall narrative. Actual, one could consider The Phantom Menace as "A Star Wars Story". It can be completely skipped by a new viewer and they wouldn't be lost at all in the Episode Chapter narrative...

I explained why TPM shouldn't be skipped in a previous post.

I didn't know where else to post this question, but what is the psychology and motivation for people to make fan edits of movies?

I think that's fairly simple answer. Considering the director of the movies tinkered with them continuously, over and over release after release you can easily feel there is no definitive version and therefore have a need to make one yourself. Luckily the fan base is so dedicated we have unaltered versions available to us in HD

But why do things like having the stop-motion be smoothed out, or giving Yoda more facial expressions in The Empire Strikes Back: Revisited? I talked to someone who would rather see and support something new and original than yet another fan edit of Star Wars when they felt the beautiful, painstaking stop-motion had to be removed.

Has anybody have audio cutouts at the beginning of the prequels when the ships flys over with the bass? All 3 of them cut out right at that spot. I have the original complete saga digibook release.

Audio was confirmed to be screwed up/dropped bass and a few other things shortly after release.

The Blu-ray sets, just like the DVDs are sub-par releases.

After AOTC TPM is my least favorite Star Wars film. However, I do think it helps cement Palpatine's character more than Anakin. It gives the viewer a closer look as to why Palpatine has the motivations he has later in the series. Just my opinion.

The discs use branching for different language versions of the title crawls IIRC, it sounds like you're getting a dropout right at that point on each disc.

Watched Episode II last night, dunno why but I had a random urge. Man they really nailed the colors on the BD, I'm excited to see what the inevitable HDR grade looks like.

The one that I am most eager to see in UHD is The Empire Strikes Back mainly because of the Battle of Hoth and Bespin.
