What he was doing was SPEAKING in absolutes, not dealing in them.

By making it accusatory, Obi-Wan has defined his actions towards Anakin using an absolute..

I can see that but I think Jedi try and see/do more than the sith. Though, Jedi have been very absolute in their ways as well. I think it's more of the Jedi think they're better but aren't.

My only complaint about this box set is that it doesn't include the trailers.

THere's rumors of 4K releases of the Lion King and Little Mermaid, at least over seas. I'm hoping that means we'll get a proper 4K release of Star Wars, soon!

Social media wasn't a thing in 1999.
Ahmed Best is just trying to stir up sympathy cause he isn't a good enough actor to get more work.

That said, I actually like Jar Jar in The Phantom Menace.

I don't believe any of this crap about him being the ultimate bad guy. That's Best, again, trying to drum up sympathy.

I'm just glad I got to click into here and see a grown man with a Power Rangers moniker gaslighting a Star Wars actor about the abuse he says he suffered from fans.

More likely the people writing these articles contacted him just to stir up sympathy themselves.

Despite, y'know, being the ones harrassing him in the first place. Remember that? Jar Jar Binks being a racist caricature? Funny these articles neglect to mention that part.

You're on an online discussion forum dedicated to Blu-ray, and you chose to enter a lengthy discussion thread about Star Wars. I don't know what exactly you expected.

So because someone wants to talk about Star Wars, they should be expected to tolerate ignorant comments about suicide?

Yeah, tolerate it. Ignore it. Whatever.

I sympathize with Best, he must've dealt with immense amounts of ridicule and fanboy hate after TPM. And if he did grapple with suicide, that's not something to mock. But plugging a one-man show at the end of the tweet was unnecessary. And I wonder how difficult it really was for him to find work when he's never even seen on-screen. I doubt anyone but the most hardcore fans would walk by Best on the street and know who he is. At the very least he should've had a decent voice acting career.

As someone else so eloquently pointed out earlier, this is a discussion forum; engaging is kind of the point...

There's only one other thread that threatens the balance of the force on this forum and that's the Criterion thread.

That's something of an understatement. Hating Jar Jar Binks was a hip thing to do for a long time, but the thing is, most everybody was in on it, not just some "minority of enraged fanboys". The media accused the character of being a racist caricature at worst and an obnoxious child-appeal character that didn't work at best, and even Lucasfilm played to the hate, at least to some extent, by releasing a toy of Jar Jar Binks frozen in carbonite, which had been a subject of a myriad of fanart up until then. Here's a CNN article on the character from 1999.

On a totally unrelated note, the badness of TLJ did kind of make me go back and embrace the time in my life when I actually enjoyed the franchise...well, I mean, I still do, but as far as it's present state is concerned, nah.

Anyway, what I mean by that is that I splurged on a lot of Star Wars merch, including some of those big Marvel Omnibus books that collect every issue of the original comic as well as stuff from other magazines at the time. Including the Droids & Ewoks ones - funny thing, I saw both the Ewoks cartoon and both of the TV movies before I ever saw a single "proper" Star Wars movie. Which might explain why I'm willing to forgive a lot to those little furry bastards.

Also is anybody else bothered by the fact that the individual steelbooks all have a villain's face on the cover except for Episode II, which has Yoda for some reason instead of Count Dooku?
