Personally, I'm with Uxi on this... If it gets approved for the official Star Wars logo, it's official in my eyes, even if not in reality.

The only problem there is that so many different people are writing these stories, things are bound to conflict. That's why the official seal of approval needs to be doled out with more caution.

I consider the Timothy Zahn trilogy to be practically canon and that's actually the direction I want them to go in if they ever decide to do 7-9.

Like I said earlier, Lucas (at one time) did call the Thrawn trilogy canon. I too wouldn't mind seeing that as Episodes VII-IX.

Just out of curiosity...

Who would you cast as Thrawn & Mara Jade?

He said something along the lines that he considered this game the first video game that was an official chapter of the Star Wars universe. Anyways, I certainly hope he doesn't go back on that with the TV shows, which are supposed to take place around the same time (between episodes 3 and 4). I'm pretty sure I read an article somewhere that said the guy that played Starkiller is going to play Starkiller in the TV show, but I could be wrong on that.

Plus she totally looks like the kind of woman who could go from being an evil servant of the Empire to the one who seduced and eventually married the top Jedi in the galaxy.

Cool choices. I wonder how Rachel would look as a red head?

What about Milla Jovovich?.. Not that I've given it any thought.

The story in The Force Unleashed was surprisingly good. I never played Shadows of the Empire, though. I know the soundtrack was great for it.
I'm not disagreeing that it was a good story, I thought the game was great even if it was a little buggy. I haven't played the sequel yet, so this is my assumption, but doesn't it continue on with the non-canon ending of the first game?

The only Star Wars games that I truly loved were the original Knights of the Old Republic & LEGO Star Wars. KotOR being my favorite console game of all-time. Force Unleashed was (IMHO) just another button masher.

Is KoTOR good? I bought it years ago for PC and played it for like 10 minutes before I got bored. Should I have stuck it out?

Like I said, it's my favorite console game ever. Like most RPGs, it starts out slow. There is more to do on that first planet than in a lot of today's entire games.

It depends on what you like. I'm a RPGer from way back. It's my favorite genre. If you're into straight up action, KotOR is not for you. If you like a great story with exploration, puzzle-solving and great character development & interaction, then KotOR is a must-own. It wasn't game of the year for nothing.

KOTOR is a fantastic game. Both me and my wife have played through it and both of us thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd highly recommend trying it again if you have some time. It's been a while, but I do remember the first planet being the least interesting. Game definitely picks up once you gain some jedi abilities and start down that path

Not sure if you've had a chance to play/try Mass Effect. It's made by the same studio and if you have played it, you'll probably have similar opinions about KOTOR. So if you also didn't like Mass Effect, you'll probably not enjoy KOTOR.

I think it's that I'm not an RPG guy. Maybe I'll give it another try, but like you suggested, the only game I've played and liked in the last several years is Halo, excluding Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

See, I can't stand Halo. Mindless shooting, pick up bigger gun, shoot some more, lather, rinse, repeat.

Wii Sports, on the other hand is fun.

The people allowing them to put the logo on make sure there isn't outright conflict... unless it's a "certain point of view" type thing, that is.
