I hate the change of sinister music on Yoda telling Luke " you will be ", the change of Vader's dialogue " bring my shuttle ". Even tho I welcome McDiarmid ( The Emperor being my favorite character ) I don't like the angle or change of dialogue. It should have looked more like Sidiuos, head covered, instated of showing his full face. He also sounds flat.

Not to mention his delivery is weak. He sounds and looks like he’s literally reading off cue cards.

The negatives definitely outweigh the positives for me. The continuity issue as the Falcon is trying to get away after leaving Cloud City at that crucial part of the movie is very, very jarring as is Boba Fett's new voice.

The Wampa scene and the Cloudy City additions I found are least offensive.

Yeah. It's weird, it's just really off.

What's this issue? I can't seem to recall it, as it's been years since I watched the SE.

The dialogue is awful as well. The original had more mystery, and gave the

reveal more power.

Is this about "blue Hoth"? Because Hoth is supposed to be blueish.

Note the white squares in Dennis Muren's shirt. This still has not been color corrected. Hoth was a frozen alien world, and not supposed to look exactly like Earth. People are just used to years of colorists color-correcting what they think the snow should look like in earlier editions. It's not revisionism, it's finally the way it was supposed to be.

The final shot:

Nah, nothing to do with white/blue Hoth. A nice blue is correct for sure More to do with comparisons between the Blu-ray and original 35mm prints.

I just wish the 4K fan restorations were an option for me. I have neither the hard drive space to download them (not even the 1080p versions!), the computing power to actually watch them, or even a blu-ray burner to actually put them on a disc. If it wasn't so frowned upon, I'd just ask someone else to burn me copies so I could at least watch them on a regular player. Otherwise I'm stuck with watching the OT on Laserdisc - which really isn't all that bad. It's an experience for sure.

The complete set has superior extras. You wouldn't get the vintage making ofs if you bought just the OT.

just because clickbait blogs say every hates all of the prequels and always has, doesn't make it true
This. Despite the supposedly negative reaction to Phantom Menace, it didn't kill the hype for the next movie. And neither did Attack of the Clones, despite being often called the worst of the OT.

The clickbait blogs are full of flagrant lies anyway and are clearly aimed at casual readers who believe everything they read at face value and do zero research to find out if they're actually being bullshitted or not. Hell, the bloggers themselves don't do any research. That's why that stupid "Kelly Marie Train was driven off social media because of harrassment" narrative kept circling around despite having nothing to actually back it up. NYT even inserted an editorial to try and keep it up when she finally spoke up because she didn't mention it herself once!

Well you have to understand the people who say the prequels were universally hated are people who subscribe to fake news. More people are fans of the prequels than are not

I know people generally hate the special editions of the originals, but what are your guy's thoughts on the special editions of the prequels? They're pretty minor changes, but I prefer TPM and ROTS SE over theatrical, and theatrical of AOTC over SE.

I think everything done to TPM made it better and wasn't the only change to Sith that wipe where his robotic hand is clutching the sand?

The music edit in Clones was super-jarring to me.

Agree with clones. Sith also added dialogue for the clones in the Utapu scenes, and improved the cg on buildings on Kashyyk.

I did! Do you have a problem?!?! The notion by the media that the prequels are hated is a huge over exaggeration. Most fans and non alike like the prequels. Next time learn how to read when you are making a comment. Seeing you dont own Star Wars on bd your opinion is irrelevant
