Ok so tell me if this is a good idea: My plan is to sign up for the free one month trial of Amazon Prime the week before the complete saga release. Thoughts?

3. The Thrawn Trilogy

Do you think that is a good reading order? Also, what other Star Wars books/trilogies should I pick up since HPB has toms of them?

Yea, I would go with that order.

Its been quite awhile, but I loved 'Han Solo at Stars End' and 'Splinter of the Minds Eye' which was going to be the 'Star Wars' sequel instead of 'Empire' in case the movie bombed.

Also, you should pick up 'The Truce at Bakura' and 'Shadows of the Empire' too.

Or you could do that anytime before the release and pre-order it. Your order won't get downgraded or anything when your Prime runs out if you placed it when you had Prime.

I never thought of that. Thanks. I preordered it on day 1 btw, so I might have to cancel, then re-preorder.

Thanks for the suggestions Duffy...I will probably start reading this weekend so I can see what all of this "the EU rocks" stuff is about . Also, is there any EU stuff out there that heavily involves Yoda? Like a story just on him or something?

I, too, would be highly interested in this!

That's some aweseome stuff...I would love the blus to have the option to play the movies seamlessly including all of the deleted scenes. I've seen them all so many times that for me, it would be great to have them a bit more "fresh".

I think it's obvious that she's being a tease, because she wants to make Luke & Leia as much as he does.

I think it's been pretty much confirmed that it's NOT part of this release. Some people think we'll eventually get it and have posted as such, but I find that hard to believe, at least during Lucas' lifetime.

I hope we get the original version of Anakin kneeling before Palpatine in Episode III. Lucas completely reshot that when they did pickups.

Of course, this is Star Wars, and we've all spent $100s on the various versions and media, so who the hell knows.
I was joking around about this with my friend at work. I was like "it probably won't be cheap in stores, they can charge like $200 for it and people would buy it, hell, *I'D* buy it for $200"

And yeah to the poster that suggested getting it on amazon, then if I don't get it soon buying it at the store buying it at the store and then returning it when the amazon one gets to me: I thought about that too =] That's kinda what I did when Chrono Trigger was released for DS. I really wanted the bonus CD that you got for pre-ordering (which I didn't do) but you could still get it if you ordered it online, so I did that and still bought it in the store, etc. etc.

It's that simple.
That only works if the retailer doesn't put their own price sticker and bar code on the package. Aside from the fact that it's unethical.

Dark Rendezvous is a Yoda book I enjoyed a lot. He goes looking for his former apprentice dooku. It features Dookus home planet and Yoda and him have an encounter on that planet. At one point, Yoda goes darkside and gives Dooku a glimpse of what he would become if he gave in. He doesn't attack dooku or anything like that tho so its my going against his character like some other EU stuff does. It's more like a glimpse behind the curtain and it lasts only a second but it scares the hell out of dooku lol. He would change into something along the lines of what Palestine became. Red eyes and truly evil looking. It's an interesting look at what Yoda might have become if he had less self control. Needless to say its a good thing Yoda never went to the darkside. He would have crushed Palpatine like an insect tho.

Well the short answer is they can't take ''No'' for an answer. Help me here, didn't Lucas already say no, month ago?, I mean in print.

I think they are better. It is called opinion. I think all the things people can do with computers these days actually ruins most movies.

I think classic movies should be left alone.

People can want what they want and aren't obligated to buy anything they don't.

If people choose to not own the blu-ray because of it, who is to tell them that it is wrong? Does it prevent you or any others that don't mind it from buying?

For me, touched up graphics are fine. But with things like Han shooting first and which version of Anakin appears at the end of Jedi, it does disrupt the enjoyment of watching the film. It is my perspective and there is no right or wrong.
