Then we have to wait three years in a time with no Internet, no so call journalist twitting every 5 minutes, no rumors of any kind about what is happening, no available trailer to be seen on our computers since we had no computers anyway. What do we get after three years of waiting? A musical number in Jabba's palace and a bunch of teddy bears running around the forest. Yeah!! I can sure see how The Phantom Menace is the worst Star Wars movie Good thing we did have a good finish with a great space battle and a amazing stand off between Luke, Vader & the emperor.

Strangely, 'Return of the Jedi' has become pretty unwatchable for me now.
When I finally get this set I will probably just watch that one only once and get it over with, while I will veiw the disapointing prequels several times. But I just cannot stomach RotJ anymore from beginning to end. So I guess that I am putting that one at the bottom of my SWs ranking list.

This is kinda reminding me of the 'ALIEN' box set.

Lol

I remember that when I saw 'Return of the Jedi' opening day, it seemed like most of the audience was tired of his act and were shouting at the screen for him to "Shut up!"

I like Return of the Jedi for two main reasons. The space battle with all the Star Destroyers, TIE Fighters, and TIE Interceptors and the final clash between Anakin and Luke.

Yes like certain people saying stuff like

The prequels are horrible
George Lucas should die
I hate Lucas
Lucas rape my childhood
I want the original and I want them now
People who like the prequels are idiots

you mean these type of people right the one who are so respectful and nice

But he did rape my childhood! Sad thing is he did it wearing a Greedo mask, which struck me as awkward and no courtesty reach around. However, I am selling the video on ebay for 19.95... comes packaged with the Star Wars Holiday Special autographed by Bea Aurther. Ya'll hit me up on the ebays...

And this is supposed to be a good thing?

Why the hell would I (or for that matter, you) want a young Woody Allen let loose in the Star Wars Galaxy? Heck, there are very few things that are more annoying to me than Jar-Jar, but Woody Allen is definately one of them!

He may work well within the context of his own movies, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to see him in movies like these.

Also, let's end the hyperbole - there are plenty of positive comments here about the movies and the BD releases.

Just as some people like to come here and vent, others like to come here solely to egg them on.
Exactly. Besides, like someone else already stated, if all we did was agree with each other it would be pretty damned boring...

Is't this great?

Yeah it is.

Is't that nice?

Sure is... Let's make out.

Everybody is going to have different opinions. We are not all the same person. Those who are whining because everybody doesn't agree with them are the ones who need to step into reality.

I defend BOTH trilogies, but I do not find either trilogy to be perfect. Face it, nothing in life is perfect. If we can't discuss these things here... Why are we here? To have the conversation I outlined above? Please.

So Beast, are you saying you are disgruntled or angry?

remember Lucas has already said, what he unwillingly gave you folks what you wanted in those 2 disc Original DVDs unrestored non anamorphic versions.

and that is all you will ever get in reference to the "originals"

get over it.
Yup. I have those DVD packages. While I'm glad I have copies of the originals on something other than VHS tape (I have tose too), I can't actually watch them, after seeing the special editions. I'm not saying I like all of GL's changes, but visually, the original versions look so bad to me at this point, I just can't do it. Face it, if GL could have given us the special editions as the original releases, he would have. If he considers the original versions as being unfinished, so do I. They sure look it.

At least, that's how I've interpreted it so far.
Um... No offense, but did you see Return of the Jedi? Do you understand the meaning of the title? Anakin did not die a Sith. He redeemed himself & came back to the good side. That was arc of the entire saga. Return of the Jedi does not refer to Luke becoming a Jedi (though that could be part of a double meaning)... It refers to Anakin's return. Remember, the six films chronicle the rise, fall & return of Anakin Skywalker. The return was his.

Sorry I'm really late to the party - haven't been on this site in many months. But if someone can just quickly let me know. Are the original *unaltered* movies going to be an option? Thanks

So far it looks like the 2004 releases with some alterations are the way they're going to go, doesn't mean the original OT won't be included as special features of course.
