It's quite clear that this is going to look amazing, but I can't wait to hear how it SOUNDS. The DVD's sound like fart on my system.

You got the right hearing the saga in lossless hd audio will be amazing. Let just hope that the sound mix for episode 4 a new hope will be mixed right this time around and not have fliped stereo surround channels like the 2004 dvd release that has to be addressed and corrected for the blu-ray release.

Something tells me that unless Georgie seriously believes that's how his movie is supposed to sound, it won't be appearing that way again. I don't think he'll get caught with the same slip-up like that twice.

Agreed nathan_393 I also think LFL won't let that happen again based on all the negative feedback on the sound on ANH from the 2004 dvd release the blu-ray will sound so much better than the dvd release.

Why doesn't that line make sense? What should Obi-Wan have said instead? "Luke, you will go to the Dagobah system. There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi master who instructed me. Well, he was the first one who instructed me, then later I was instructed by Qui-Gon. You don't know Qui-Gon and you'll never meet him, but I just want to make sure you know every detail of my entire training while you lie there freezing to death."
Well actually, Yoda did instruct Obi Wan in his most important lesson about the Force....how to become one with the Force and commune with those who are Force sensitive. Maybe that's what he meant by "the Jedi master who instructed me..." line, and he tailed off before he could finish the sentence by saying "...the last lesson I learned about the Force"

Yoda is the first instructor for all Jedi. Obi-Wan was taught by Yoda, then later assigned to Qui-Gon.

I know the Star Wars lore and how Yoda instructs Padawans. I was citing an instance where Obi Wan received direct training from only Yoda....to support his statement that Yoda was the Jedi master that instructed him.

He was, and then, after instructing Obi-Wan, Yoda assigned Obi-Wan to Qui-Gon for his apprenticeship.

That trailer would have been better without those prequel jokes.

Then who instructed Yoda? He wasn't always the wise and powerful Grand Master we see in the films.

True, but in the films there isn't any established details for the Jedi prior to what we see on screen. Some history has been explored in the books with explanations that the Jedi date back some 4,000 years (if I recall correctly) so presumably as Yoda was only 900 he would have received instruction from a prior Jedi Master before establishing himself over time as Grand Master.

Of course it's all speculation but considering the films cover about 35 or so years Yoda would have been in the Jedi around 850 years assuming he started at the usual young age and progressed just as any other Jedi did.

True. At the end of ROTS, Yoda tells Obi-Wan that during his solitude on Tatooine, he has training for him. Obi Wan asks "Training?" and Yoda replies that an old friend has learned the path back from the netherworld of the force. Obi Wan says "Qui Gon" and Yoda says "How to communicate with him I will teach you."

Why the hell would I (or for that matter, you) want a young Woody Allen let loose in the Star Wars Galaxy? Heck, there are very few things that are more annoying to me than Jar-Jar, but Woody Allen is definately one of them!

He may work well within the context of his own movies, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to see him in movies like these.
I happen to like Woody Allen, so there you go what is wrong with that?. Oh yeah! I forgot, it's the Star Wars thread we are only allowed to like what real fans like, you know the ones who only want the original, untouched, unchange

Well, in a world where money is all that counts, you'd be right. In that case, Michael Bay must have done every single thing right with Transformers 2.

Using sales as an example is bunk unless you're a cold hearted business man that couldn't care less about movies as ART. Just saying.

And it wasn't like Qui-Gon could help. Obi-Wan never seemed to be able to stay long in spirit, so Qui-Gon probably had the same limits. Of course, there's the real life fact Qui-Gon was likely not fully developed (He may've only existed as "Obi-Wan's teacher" at that point) and most certainly not cast by then.

Plus why would Obi-Wan go into detail about a Jedi who's been dead so long?

Obi-Wan: "Luke... Luke. You must go to the Dagobah System."

Luke: "Dagobah?"

Obi-Wan: "There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me."

Luke: "Yoda...."

Obi-Wan: "Oh if only Qui-Gon were still alive. He was the one who completed my training."

Luke: "Qui-Gon....?"

Obi-Wan: "But he was killed by a Dark Lord of the Sith long before you were born."

Luke: "Ben.... shut up... freezing... help me..."

Midi-chlorians: "Call for Mr. Obi-Wan. Paging Mr. Obi-Wan."

Obi-Wan: "One second Luke. It's the Force calling... Yello."

The Force: "Please deposit 100 Republic Credits for another 2 minutes of Blue Glowie."

Obi-Wan: "Crap... Luke, you got any change? I'm tapped out, being dead and all."

Luke: "........"

Obi-Wan: "Look, here comes Han Solo. I'm sure it'll all work out. Oh, and don't kiss your si...."

Qui-Gon didn't exist at all when the Empire Strikes Back was created, not even as "Obi-Wan's Teacher".

I agree. Yoda instructed Ben, end of story. Was he the only one that ever instructed Ben? Of course not. If someone only ever learned anything from one person in their whole life, that would be pretty sad. Yoda was the one Ben was sending Luke to... There was zero reason for Ben to list every person who'd ever taught him anything, especially considering they were all dead and of no help to Luke.

But he could have more realistically said 'one of' to at least be fair to Qui Gon's memory.

Really? You mean to say George Lucas didn't already have Jar Jar, Qui Gon, Count Dooku, Grevious, Padme, etc in his mind upon the creation of The Empire Strikes Back? Well this is news to me. Next you're going to say he didn't know Luke and Leia were brother and sister when they kissed.
