Well, at least the internet won't be breaking anytime soon.
Please, Hamill can barely act let alone act like he knows what he's talking about.

As a whole the saga works.. I have my own two cents regarding most of the criticism...

a) Bad acting of E1-3 - Well the fact that only one of the three actors from the OT had a career tells you something.. I actually never liked Luke..and looking at how annoying Anakin is I can say that Luke ..has a lot of his father in him..in most of EIV he's just whinnying..

b) The biggest problem with the new trilogy is that george lucas is not that good of a director. I recently watched ANH and sorry to say but in terms of pace ESB was much better and the excitement of ROTJ was also better. If George had actually decided to have other director's do the new trilogy then I believe the result would have been much better even with the same source material. Just look at the Godfather I + II, not a lot of action, loads of politics..but the sound, pace and direction of actors is amazing. George is so visually concerned with the way his movies look, that he forgets about the proper direction of his actors and drama..you can write this s**t but you can't say it.

c) To much politics.. - I agree to some extant with this..It would have been really cool to have some more insight into the sith.. How they train..some back history..more regarding the prophecy. Just Imagine instead of Yoda stating that the prophecy might have been misinterpreted..he could have gone on to reveal that maybe it was never the destiny of a Jedi to bring balance to the force but of the sith.. But the politics must have existed..It's not like there was an army of sith waiting to take over the galaxy. The rule of the sith had to be done form inside..and weaver that interests you or not they only way to do it was through politics..corruption, betrayal and assassinations.

This is just my own personal opinion, so please refer from responses such as "you're an idiot"..and so on..

You are asking for a lot considering the thread

By the way, I agree with the rest of your post. It's been mention many times by many actors and directors and close friends of Lucas, great guy but he get's frustrated with the actors. He wrote the stuff, it's on the paper, just say it and with actors it doesn't always work out that way.

While I can understand his desire for a completely consistent mythos sometimes he should just paraphrase Harrison Ford and say 'they're not that kind of movie, kid'.

Hitchcock was famous for refusing to let details get in the way of a good story and there wouldn't be anything wrong with saying 'sure, we tried to be consistent but sometimes we just went with what looked cooler'.

wow. I can't believe how many pages on this topic were about the weight of the sabers! Regardless of what someone said behind the scenes, the FACT is that a saber can be wielded with one hand, it's in the films so it's fact.

Aside from that I can't help but drop in that my Force FX lightsabers certainly have some heft and weight to them

I've just "obtained" the Phantom Edit and am looking forward to watching this, apparently excellent, version of TPM.

My favourite saber fight? As good as the ones from the PT are, you can't beat the scene in RotJ when Vader goads Luke; "if you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps she will". Cue the best music and the most emotionally charged and one sided saber fight in the entire saga. Every time I get goose pimples! Just thinking about it now gives me a shiver!

Why don't you understand that Jedi have been trained from practically toddler stage to wield lightsabers? Did you miss that scene in Attack of the Clones with Yoda and the younglings?
I even said I wasn't to sure but I remembered hearing about it. You wanted prof and it was shown. Be a man and admit it.

No I saw it, but again it shows Lucas says one thing and does something else.

So because Hamill is not that could of a actor he's wrong? good logic

LOL I saw it and Luke got the saber knocked out of his had within seconds of holding one handed. Vader was half machine and could pick a man up and throw him with one hand.

Maybe you should rewatch the movie. He was forced to hold it one handed then vader knocked it out of his hand.

Wow I think its funny that you can't admit that Lucas messed up. Did you watch the video on the link? If not you should.

No shit genius! I know what happens in the movie. And, how is it messing up exactly because he went from the two handed saber fighting style in ANH to one handed in ESB? That's called progression kid! In the video you mention, he even states why they changed it up from ANH to ESB. How is that messing up again?

Semantics. You were wrong, you were condescending about it, you were proven wrong, and you still you can't admit it or apologize.

Ah, the internet.

Rewatch the movie again
Luke was forced to use one hand! and got the saber knocked out of his hand During the rest of the fight he used both hands! You are clinging on the a 2 second part where Luke was forced to use one hand to prove your point! How many times did he fight one handed against Vader in ROTJ

Default Episodes I - VI remade as animated (Clone Wars style) features

It would be awesome if Lucas decided to remake Episodes 1-6 as direct to Blu Ray animated (Clone Wars style) features.

Lucas could finaly have a consistant saga in style and continuity

We'd see Star Wars recut, rejuvinated and remixed in perfect HD for the modern audience - while leaving the originals untouched for the traditionalist

The Clone Wars audience would likely lap it up as well as many new and existing fans

I'm sure many of us would like to see:
- Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Tie Fighters, Han Solo and the Death Star Battles in clone wars style
- re-edited Jar Jar Binks (as well as other ideas that may need touching up)
- Darth Vader in clone wars style
- re envisioned Battle for Endor
- Consistant musical themes (Imperial March in Ep IV)
- Darth Vader in clone wars style
- Consistant VFX
- The ENTIRE saga as it was meant to be seen

and in case I forget;

- Darth Vader in clone wars style!!!!

This way Lucas and most of the audience (there will always be those who cannot be pleased) could have their cake and well and truly eat it!

Rex

I would love to see this. I have brought this up a few times. As long as the animation is using the original audio.

You forgot to mention Darth Vader in Clone Wars style.

Actually, I was thinking the same thing myself. I avoided The Clone Wars initially, and just started watching them very recently. In all honesty, I like them better than the films. I would love to see them go back & include the six films as part of the animated Clone Wars series. Watching the commentaries, these guys are better suited to make Star Wars films than GL (IMHO).
