I know. That would be worse than some of the shots where Speilberg replaced E.T. with a CGI version.

Yeah, would be a shame if it didn't look like a muppet. Do you miss the strings on the tie fighters, too?

Who's to say that the Muppets don't look like Yoda?

It was a long time ago, you know.

Yoda just looks more like Yoda in the first three movies.

I prefer the "doll" or "muppet" look myself. Yoda looks fine in the PT as a CG character, since everything else is CG he just kind of blends in. But it'd look horrid in the OT where everything is actually there (except for the crap Lucas later put in which sticks out like a sore thumb).

Besides, the picture of him on Dagobah is too iconic and connected to Lucas and SW for them to just try to erase it.

The puppet in the OT is fine, but I really hope the ditch the puppet from TPM and replace it with the digital version.

George Lucas is, at the end of the day, just a guy who made some films and lilke all of us he'll change his mind about things over the years, things that seemed important at the time but aren't now.

I'm like that too, but it's amazing how many forum users there are here who are clearly perfect examples of human beings, who never change their minds, never make mistakes of any kind. Are you really saying that over the last 30-40 years you have been 100% consistent on everything you've ever said? That at no point has something changed that's given you a different point of view? Or you said something that you later regretted?

Lucas is as human as the rest of us, but as a film maker he's perfectly entitled to play around with things to make for a more exciting story. SW is a work of fiction, it might not all fit together as well as some of you would like, but that's life. Grow up. Deal with it and stop pretending that some of you are so damned perfect.

+100,000. No kidding. I still get the biggest kick out of those that claim a few edits to the OT has ruined their childhood. Its like, duh.... you've already had your childhood so it cant be ruined, can it? Please.

Guys, CG Yoda in Episode I is already done. And George Lucas himself has said that he will not change the puppet Yoda in V and VI.

Thank god! I will always like the ESB Yoda the best. But of course ESB is my favorite star wars movie.

Some people cannot admit when they're wrong, and they instead resort to childish and/or condescending internet posts. Whoever first brought it up, you found the "evidence" they requested, and it still wasn't good enough. Then they call you a nerd for finding it. Great logic! No matter how you look at it, you won.

About the BD releases, did I hear correctly that it's a 9-disc set? I can't believe there are enough extras to fit on 3 BDs. I'm not big on extras anymore, but I'll take any sort of Star Wars extras I can find, so I hope it's not a giant rehashing of what I already own.

All: Please keep the thread friendly, and on-topic.... There is too much time between now and release to get into an endless argument.

I wonder how many gallery photos will be Screenshots from Star Wars? First was TDK screenshot mania.... then Avatar....... then will be this, and once Howard the Duck comes out, the servers will probably melt!

One of those looks like my shower hose, maybe that's why I spend so much time in the shower. No wait....

If they redo Yoda in TPM can they please CGI Ewan's stupid wig? It's seems like haf his performance was re-shoots and it takes me away from the story. If there was a drinking game were you take a shot everytime you spot that birdnests on his head there would be deaths involved. It probably looked fantastic in real life (and I remember comments along that line) but on screen in looked unnatural.

I'm a Star Wars noob and I'm way too excited for this release!

I was really missing out all these years, because I thought SW was too Sci Fi for me

Yes, I probably could be a bit more snide.

a) That wasn't just implied. Muppets are fine for 4th graders, but a more aged version of the Ep 3 CGI Yoda would be better. Particularly for Yoda to crawl up and down Luke's back.

b) lulz. Yeah ok. That was not the implication. Implication being that SFX are alot better now than in the 70s and early 80s. And they are.

The BIG problem is that the CGI version is not photorealistic at all and would stand out like a sore thumb in any of the OTs.

Now in the PQs since there is a colossal use of CGI in them, so that version blends in much better in those films.
