If he had gone to the Dark Side earlier, he could have worn a mask and a cape it was pretty intimidating without the breathing apparatus. Anakin only needed a cape and helmet added to his RotS. I think there are sketches in the Art of Star Wars book. He could have hunted what was left of the Jedi through Episode III. It just would have been an incredible ending seeing Vader and Obi-Wan fighting in Mustafar something we haven't seen before apart from ANH. The ending could have played out the same with him needing cyborgnetic enhancements after falling into lava. Giving the audience a better sense of victory I always thought the ending was a bit of a downer....

Taken from Wikipedia, so take it with a grain of salt maybe, but:

Quote:
Since Lucas refocused the film on Anakin, he had to sacrifice certain extraneous plot points relating to Attack of the Clones. Lucas had previously promised fans that he would explain the mystery behind the erasure of the planet Kamino from the Jedi Archives.[14] However, Lucas abandoned this plot thread in order to devote more time to Anakin's story, creating an unresolved plot hole in the process. As a compromise, Lucas permitted author James Luceno to explain the mystery of Kamino's erasure and the origins of the Clone army in his novel Labyrinth of Evil.
Has anyone read Labyrinth of Evil? Any good?

Quote:
Lucas had originally planned to include even more ties to the original trilogy. Lucas wrote early drafts of the script in which a 10-year-old Han Solo appeared on Kashyyyk, but the role was not cast or shot. He also wrote a scene in which Palpatine reveals to Anakin that he created him from midichlorians, and is thus his "father," a clear parallel to Vader's revelation to Luke in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, but Lucas tossed this scene as well.
I would've loved to have the midichlorian thing explained, and too bad we didn't get to see Palpatine tell Anakin "No....I am your father."

Unresolved plot hole.... That pretty much sums up Anakin Skywalker circa Episode II thru III.

I haven't read a Star Wars book for years. It sounds good though. From Wikipedia.

Quote:
In Germany, the novel was adapted into an audio-drama recorded with the all the German voice actors of the prequel trilogy. The audio drama works completely without a narrator and can be seen as an audio track of a never-made Star Wars film, complete with music and sound effects of the films as well as completely new ones.
Star Wars in German. Awesome. It would be cool for some of the radio plays to be on the Blu-ray release. Icing on the cake cool.

There were actually several, according to the guy who put them in. He claims that part of the reason he did it was an experiment to see what people could identify and what they couldn't.

Ian McDiarmid was 39 years old when he played The Emperor in Return of the Jedi! It's wierd because he's always looked middle-aged.

This is him in 1980 (36 years old):

Here he is in Dragonslayer (37 years old):

As I play The Force Unleashed and see the interaction between Vader and Sidious, it makes me think, "What the hell?"

They basically don't trust each other. Vader plans to kill him while Sidious plans on replacing him. It's just totally dysfunctional.

My feelings at the end of ROTS were that Palps never came through with his promises to Vader... Mainly about saving Padme. So why did Vader stay with him? Because he had nobody else? Because he was already in too deep? By this time, was their relationship already changed so much that they secretly plotted against each other (as all Siths do)?

I couldn't help but think, "Man... So he killed tons of people including a bunch of kids and he doesn't get anything out of it... What's keeping him here?"

Well he has nowhere left to go. And he canīt just take on the Emperor, he would simply fry him with Force Lightning (against which Vader can't defend himself).

Remember that he didn't attack Palpatine in ROTJ after Palpatine stated:
" Take your father's place at my side " and he also stated earlier against Luke `I must obey my master` and `Itīs too late for me, my son`

So it seems as if he had given up to be anything more than Palpatineīs servant, until he finally found a new purpose in his life, by saving his son from death by sacrificing himself.

Have you ever been in a relationship with a Sith? Well, I have and it sucks. They are very bossy, always lying, always trying to push me down the stairs, flirting with other young apprentice boys. They always like to talk about "evil, evil, blah blah blah" instead of just using their evilness to have fun. I just had enough of that and I had to get out of that relationship.

And on a serious note, George Lucas didn't let anyone write those prequels other than himself so there's a lot that makes no sense.

Lucas: "now I want you to hold that NOOOO for at least 4 seconds. If the NOOOO is too short, it won't be emotional enough. If the NOOOO is too long, it will then become really cheesy. And don't forget, we have to shoot you screaming NOOOO with my two different movie cameras."

The prequels have ruined that line for me. There is no way that Hayden Christianson would ever talk like that even in his old age. That type of "bonding" line of dialogue just is out of character now that we now about young Anakin. Maybe I could see a line like, "It's too late for me, my younglin" or "It's too late for me, young padewan." But those prequels have ruined so many powerful small lines of dialogue in the original trilogy with Lucas' ridiculously filmed backstory prequels.

It had been what, over 20 years? He was a lot older than back then, not to mention he had connected with his son over their short time together and that could've changed him too.

So just finished the game. I hate it when Jedi aren't supposed to kill because they're "good" only when it seems noble. So I can kill 100000 stormtroopers and aliens but I can't kill Palps because that would make me "like him"? What the heck?

Same thing with Luke at ROTJ. He had already killed a bunch of Jabba's men and a bunch of stormtroopers on the forest moon, but he can't kill the most evil bastard in the galaxy?!

It's a displaced sense of nobility. If you were to analyze the religious themes in Star Wars, I'm sure you could name many religions that also feature the same false sense of nobility.

True! The Star Wars films are meant to be fun, not to be over analysed. It's true that they have some psychological underpinnings, they work a myth, but remeber, first and foremost, they are supposed to be fun. Don't over analyse them (:

I hope there will be a special feature on the life and times of Jar Jar Binks and Jabba the Hutt. I'm talking full-blown back stories.

I hardly know anything about them.
