Anyone seen the "Returning to Jedi" fan documentary on YouTube?

I watched the one for ANH and "Building Empire", which were both excellent, but ROTJ isn't nearly as fun to me anymore, so I'm not sure I want to watch it.

What experience did Luke have? He was a farmer who was never in the military, he only recently joined the rebellion and he received minimal training as a Jedi. While he didn't share Anakin's paranoia, he did share his whiny attitude at times. If anything, what's illogical is that Luke succeeds at all in either of Ep IV or V. By VI, one can make the case that he's had several years of experience.

Didn't the Rebellion win?

"What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?!" and the bleeped swearing is the best part of that skit.

Isn't TESB 2 or 3 years after ANH, so Luke would have that much experience as a military non-Jedi in the Rebellion. His Jedi training doesn't happen until after Hoth, right? It's only weeks and/or months at most between TESB and RotJ isn't it?

And a year after that Han Solo is a General. I think he was promoted when he was frozen in carbonite. That unit must have had a mailbox or something.

On the subject of forced slumber my favourite film to put me asleep (and my favourite film) is Blade Runner. Stick that sucker on at three o'clock in the morning and within no time you'll be dreaming of electric sheep.

So, I guess if you prefer your films to be in league with Hallie Barry's Catwoman then the PT must be high art.

New Hope: Oscars: 6/11, Razzies ineligible (wasn't around)
Empire: Oscars: 2/4, Razzie 0/0
Jedi: Oscars 1/5, Razzies 0/0
Phantom Menace: Oscars 0,3 - Razzies 1,7
Clones: Oscars 0,1 - Razzies 2,7
Sith: Oscars 0,1 - Razzies 1,1

Just playin' around, take this as a joke guys. If you prefer the PT its cool, I like it too.
Well, to be fair... awards mean nothing. Look how many great films get no recognition, and how many terrible films end up winning.

So much like box office returns, they're not a legitimate judge for how good a film actually is.

Heh! Yeah, Blade Runner is a great film.... but it certainly can put you to dream land pretty easily.

TPM is the only SW movie that I have problems finishing. I start it out every time thinking, "Will I love it now?" and I end up on the computer or washing dishes about 10 minutes before the pod race.

I'm with you, and it's the only one my 4-year old wants to watch (she likes Anakin). Still, even she gets bored before or during the pod race and goes to play with her Barbies.

Heh. For me it's the film with the most rewatchability. The depth of the storyline and seeing how the Senate and Jedi operate is great.

Only weak part of the film is Darth Maul. But as I said before, thankfully he doesn't hog much screen time and dies.

It's lost its shock value, Beast.

Sounds like your home theater stinks. Better AVR, surround sound, and sub. That's reference quality stuff there, regardless of what you think about the story.

START with the pod race and go through the Duel of the Fates. Still the best lightsaber duel evAr.

To the contrary, I don't think any amount of AVR, surround sound, and sub, can make up for a lack of story.

Moreover, my 4-year old doesn't give a damn about my home theater (which doesn't stink ).

I bet when Jango sets off the seismic charges in AotC someones crystal collection is goners.... Come to think of it when I was asked later about seeing the film in theatres the first thing I mentioned was that sound.

Yeah, those seismic charges in AotC's were an awesome effect. Can't wait to hear them again for the first time.
