Bluyoda I am a true star wars fan just like you and I have supported GL and LFL all of these years. Could care less about the blu-ray release? You have to be kidding me.

I certainly am.

I tried to watch TPM again, but the PQ is so awful that it's impossible to watch.
I think that could be the reason why some of you can't stomach it anymore.
We have gotten used to the infinitely superior quality of BD.

I am waiting patiently until they are released on BD.

I am working on my CD which is due to come out this summer, so the SW saga on BD will be my reward.
What kind of music is Bluyoda into?

LOL, yeah. He just looked at Obi-Wan while he cut him in half. Maul had more than enough time to react to what was happening right in front of him.

An even better question... Why not just destroy what controls the droids right away and go into the palace after? The whole Gungan army bit was pointless.

Did we ever find out why the Trade Federation were doing all of that, btw?

They had to draw the droid army out of the city so that they could retake the palace and gain access to the ships.

Invading Palpatine's home planet would draw a sympathy vote for him in
[Show spoiler]is plot to take the chancelor's place and set his rise to power
. Don't forget who's controlling the Trade federation.

Are any of you curious to see what new changes GL has done to the saga? I'm not a fan of the Jabba scene in ANH nor that whole infamous Han Shot First affair, but I must admit. I can't wait to see if there are any changes made to the movies hehe :/

I really thing TPM is the best of the prequels, followed by ROTS. I think it's because A) I was younger when I saw it and B) it doesn't have nearly as much CGI as the other two. I know GL says that traditional FX are as fake as CGI and that you can have more nuance with CGI effects, I don't what he says, traditional FX have more gravitas. I think directors should pay attentions to how Guillermo del Toro handles GGI. Just my 2 cents.

Need I remind you ROTS had more modelwork than the all the OT films combined.

People scream "CG" because they think it's CG but it's actually modelwork, which I guess makes models look "just as fake". Plenty of CG passes by your eyes every day on TV (and the cinema) and people are none the wiser. The PT has some of the best CG work commited to film (& digital cinema). Then again, I've dabbled in VFX since the 80's. It was Star Wars (ANH) that got me into it.

Those two scenes are just bad. Not only does changing the Han/Greedo scene water down Solo's character but it also looks lame. Maybe they'll make it look a little less fake but who knows. The original scene is so much better.

The one with Jabba just looks silly. I also much prefer seeing the Falcon the first time when Luke says, "What a piece of junk!"

Yes, I know that ROTS has the most model work of all the saga. What I was trying to say, and I made a gross mistake, is that they over used green screens, the image looks flatter, it might also have to do with the cameras they used? I don't know, the newer digital camera a better I believe. Zombieland was shot digitally and it looks fantastic. But going back to SW, the opening scene in ROTS, when Anakin and Obi-wan land on the hangar. That set looks super fake, Anakin and Obi-wan look out of place there.

Zombieland doesn't have a built in fanbase who nitpick every element of the films to death.

Agreed. I was just saying that that's something that sometimes makes me break the suspension of disbelief. But that's just me haha. I still love the saga as a whole. It's like family you know, you love them with all their flaws.

Also, even though I don't exactly love some of the CG work in the prequels, one must not forget that is because of these " 'awful' movies that almost every star wars fan that's certain age seems to not like" is why have the quality of vsfx in movies today. In my opinion GL pushed the envelope once again as he did with the OT with these movies. I haven't seen the man get recognition for that :/

I really wish the PQ was the problem with TPM, or even the entire Prequel Trilogy as a whole. The real problem is that they're just terrible, terrible movies.

I've tried watching them in all available formats (theater - several times each, VHS, Laser Disc, DVD on SD and upconverted on my plasma, and HD Cable broadcast), and each prequel film just gets worse every time i see it regardless of the improved PQ and AQ as the years have gone by. Everything about them just makes me face-palm and want to pull my hair out. There is nothing blu ray can do to make a horrible movie be anything other than horrible.

Puppet Yoda. While I like the puppet itself, it has too much of that Sesame Street "bounce" to it. Very distracting and needs to be toned down...should have been caught by the director from the start.

More needs to be done to the Battle of Hoth to more match the epic scale of the PT ground battles. Stop motion AT-AT's have served their purpose, but it is now time to do that battle right.

Take out everything between the probe droid crashing down on Hoth to when the Purina dog chow General first says something about it.

Yes! and also replace the Yoda in EpII with the CG model they used in EpIII

Never thought about it, but it would cool if they open the scale of that battle, much lie what they did with the battle of Yavin

If that double-chinned bastard screws with the Original Trilogy anymore than he already has I'll not be buying the blu-rays.

Give me the originals in their former non-effed with glory or give me death.

Double-chinned bastard? Someone is taking these movies a bit too seriously. I myself am hoping for more tweaks. Tweaks for everyone!

He can make what ever changes he wants as far as I am concerned. Some of the changes are cool. But, i will not spend money on these films again until all versions are released. Give me the Blade Runner and Alien treatment and I will buy. Until then, nope.
