Sometimes we've got to give the OT cast a break on their lines. As a lot of their takes were printed because R2 went straight instead of falling over or a puppet worked once out of twenty takes. I remember Ford telling Lucas that even though the take was good for a prop it wasn't good for the actors and they needed another take. I'm sure a few good for the props made it through....

Then we have the PT where Lucas could take performances from multiple takes and edit them together which resulted in some stiff performances from the cast when you thought it would have offered more freedom of expression.

As for Harrison's worst lines, I love the little speech he gives to Leia aboard the Falcon about being in it for the money. It's delivered in such a hurried manner and much of it is completely redundant. Lucas has a habit of doing that with the dialogue. I've always laughed at that line from Vader to Piett when he lets the stolen shuttle through in Jedi: "Leave them to me. I will deal with them myself". Riiiiiiiight. I suppose that "leave them to me" is a very difficult command to understand/interpret.
I have heard in interviews with pretty much all the actors, that GL's main mantra is always "Faster! More Intense!"

It could be argued that both sets of actors were constrained, just with different things. They were up against it when shooting the original film, hence the, er, 'unique' acting styles on display. And Lucas' cut-and-paste attitude to the PT means that there's no rhythm or flow to the dialogue; characters end up speaking in statements and don't actually converse with one another.

Watching the deleted scenes from the PT - especially for Clones - is both fun and immensely frustrating, because Lucas hasn't had the chance to edit them to oblivion and they play soooo differently from what ended up in the film.

I dunno about that, but fingers crossed we're finally gonna see Luke rolling his lightsaber to Vader and then snatching it back during that climactic fight in Jedi. Showing Vader force-choking the Emperor's bodyguards wouldn't go amiss either.

  1. How much do lightsabers weigh? Can they really be wielded one-handed? Are they more like Katanas or Claymores?
  2. Is Boba Fett the adopted son of Jango Fett or his much younger twin brother?
  3. Should Anakin's force ghost manifest as his older redeemed self or is the man he was before he turned to the dark side more reflective of his true spirit?
  4. Which of the trilogies is most like the really hot chicks you've nailed?
One of these things is not like the other...one of these things just doesn't belong...

A couple more things from Jedi that would get my geek on: showing a ship crashing into the energy shield when Lando urges everyone to pull up (it was storyboarded but never shot) and a flashier death for the Executor. The existing shot of the stricken ship plunging into the Death Star is seriously lame.

I also would like to see some sort of flashback sequence right before vader picks up the emperor and hurls him to his death.

i think something should be there like vader remembering when he was a jedi.

No.

Why don't Owen and Beru remember Threepio? You'd think he'd be like, "I suppose you're programmed for etiquette and proto... Wait. Threepio?! Long time no see, buddy! How long? Since Luke's grandmother was taken away by sand people, right?"

Well in all fairness, 3PO was silver in AOTC, and was gold in ANH so in Owen's eyes he could have been a different droid.

And we also have to remeber that most people see and treat droids as just tools. And not as Sentient Robots.

Anakin and Luke's relationships with R2 is the exception, not the rule. Even routine mindwipes are normal for other droids.

You wouldn't encounter a toaster you owned 18 years ago and remember it after all.

No, but when I see photos of my parents' first TV set or the transistor radio I had as a kid, it does make me very nostalgic. And some people treat their cars as almost human.

So I think it depends upon how interactive the device is and I think people would recognize a robot they interacted with, especially one with artificial intelligence that approached human capacity for communication.

Yeah, but you wouldn't be able to pick those things out of a crowd of them.

And yeah, your points hold true in the SW Universe as well.

Some people treat the droids as almost living beings, like how Anakin and Luke treat R2-D2. And others treat them like nothing more than tools.

I would think only EP2 and EP3 would be the only ones where you can't tell the difference cause they look perfect.

I think EP1, EP4, EP5, EP6 would really benefit from the upgrade to blu.

I remember when EP1 came out in May 1999,the following month they had a special screening of EP1 on digital projectors,i don't know how many theaters showed it, but i remember seeing it several times, and there was a noticeable difference even during the pod race. it seemed that the wind and dust was coming at you on the screen, it was like you could see subtle things that you didn't during the regular EP1 release.

Also yoda was not digital.

I wonder? what sort of enhancements we will get for each episode? and will we see some stuff that we didn't see before like extra stuff placed in the background??
You surely are teasing us here, right?

They are going to look so much better, it's not even funny.

AOTC and ROTS may look great for DVD, but there is still tons of background noise, lack of sharpness and detail, and overall clarity.
They certainly look the best of the bunch.
I can't wait to see TPM in all its breathtaking glory, as the DVD PQ really stinks.

The date is coming closer and closer!!!

As much as I love the OT, I can't imagine it looking anywhere near as good as the PT.
Oh yeah! I cannot wait to hear and see the ending or AOTC after Yoda's: Begun the clone wars have.

The Audio is going to blow us away!

Also the legendary fight with the Count is going to be incredible beyond belief.
Another one is the entrance into the arena, one of the most awesome moments ever put on screen. The combination of perfect imagery, sound effects and music!
Well, it would take days to list all the scenes I cannot wait to witness in glorious 1080p and lossless audio.

That's a valid statement, but then again, it's not like C3PO is the only one of his kind, right?!?

Plus, I would love it if they would change that awful 'Ewok battle cry' that they use, as it was a copied yell from the Jawas in ep IV right after they capture R2.

I HATE that one with a passion!
