But then what's the point? People were already made at getting a non-anamorphic release on DVD. Taking that exact same transfer and then just dumping it on Blu-Ray will just be adding insult to injury. Most likely anyone who really wanted to originals bad enough to considering buying such a release already have those DVDs. Dumping the same thing onto Blu-Ray isn't going to be an advantage.

At this point they should either do it right or just not bother.

The Despecialized Shots you posted yesterday were fake and eight months old from a Fan Edit. I posted the original links. There are hundreds of shots from deleted scnes 'The Making of' books are full of them.

Have fun but guys will loose patience. We're interested in seeing shots from deleted scenes for sure, but don't try and mislead people. Remember that the TESB cover was a custom cover from another member on this site?

At least the *cough* "Insider" *cough* brings us all together in unity to tell him he's full of Poodoo.

That wouldn't be an awful idea. But it would leave a bitter taste in some mouths. My nuts still hurt from Lucas kicking me when he released them as non-anamorphic extras last time round.

Right now I'd be happy for restored footage of the UOT to be available as Extended/Altered Scenes as a compromise least then we can watch Han shoot Greedo just to ease the pain.

I'm even tempted just to buy one half of the Saga (I haven't decided which half yet) and wait until the complete secomes down to half the price.

Probably not the right smiley to use in this situation then. I'm fine with the wait, it's nowhere near as bad as the wait for any of the PT films awhile back.

Let me get this straight the deleted scenes that were in the PT dvds we will still get ALONG with more scenes.

And what about the deleted scenes for the OT does anyone know how many we should be getting aside from the one lucas showed at last years celebration?

I am not stating anything about the reasons/truth/speculation or the possibility itself.

Just stating that it would not be impossible to include the original versions as extras, if they were ports of the SD extras on the 2006 discs.

Cause pretending you're some sort of insider and then posting other people's images as proof is lame.

His posts got nuked yesterday for doing the same thing. So that's why nobody is giving him the benefit of the doubt.

The guy that Beast was responding to is trying to make it look like he has inside info as to this Blu-Ray release, and is acting like he is involved with it. That may not be completely obvious based soley on the post that Beast was responding to, but yesterday the same guy was here making all kinds of claims of this nature, putting up pictures claiming that they were from the Blu-Ray source but that was quickly debunked, and he even posted what he claimed was pending box art for the Empire Strikes Back Blu-Ray case, but it was quickly and easily recognized by several people posting in the thread as a custom cover that was actually made by someone who posts in the custom cover art thread here on this site.

Having seen this guy's posts yesterday (which apparently a mod has removed) and seeing him posting these pics today, it's obviously more of the same.

Basically just jerseyal1976 making all kinds of assinine claims that he has inside info on the upoming SW Blu-Ray release. All of which were lies, and the 'proof' that he posted yesterday was quickly debunked.

Those posts (and the ones in response to them) were deleted. But, he is at it again today.

Our "Insider" is back from yesterday, with false claims supported by borrowed pictures from the internet.

Or in other words, what Dynamo said.

I have inside information on the blu ray sets. Here it is:

The films will be on blu ray disc AND they will spin in your blu ray player (for real, not making that up). They will be in 1080p and have 'sound' of some kind on them (can't reveal just exactly what sound yet as I might lose my job , but all will be revealed in May). Also, they will come in three different cases, black for the whole saga, Red for the PT and Blue for the OT.

I hope you were all sitting down and are floored by this news. All will be revealed soon. If you would like to see some 'insider images' please google "Star wars pictures" on the interwebs...

I know most fans have nothing but hate for the PT, but I happened to really like Episodes 2 and 3. The acting was stiff, but movies are a visual artform and I felt about these movies much the same way I felt about Avatar, that the visuals created a strong enough story to overcome the weaknesses in acting and dialogue. I know, you probably don't feel the same way, but there are some of us out there. I'm not saying either of the movies are up there with Empire, but I think they did help enrich the saga overall. Phantom, however, I enjoy less each time I watch it. Jake Lloyd's voice just gets on my nerves. And I still wish Lucas hadn't supplied the force with mediclorians (might have spelled that wrong, sorry). I get what he wanted to say with that (God / Mysticism are infused with nature and therefore are scientifically explainable), an interesting idea certainly, but the way it was written, unfortunately, stripped the force of the mystical element that imbued the Jedi as this cult of mysterious warriors.

Hope this isn't the wrong thread for my opinion about the movies themselves, and not just the blu-rays. Also sorry about the double-post, I'm using my PS3 and I hit the character limit on the first post.
