Well call me Jar Jar

I am not too worried on the quality of the Blu-ray release, I am sure that they will be quite fine.

Me neither. If they're any better than the DVDs, they'll be worth my money.

what are you on?

his story and image was so large that he decided to break it up into 2 initial acts, then finding it was still too big he cut it into 3.

He then decided to do the OT purely due to special effect restraints as the PT trilogy was not possible at that time as the Clone Wars and the fall of Anakin were just not possible.

Star Wars A New Hope was possible for the image he had for it, thats why he started there.

Some people on this forum just dont have a clue and yet they call themselves FANS!

I thought he started with Star Wars because he didn't have everything else planned. He made it up as he went along. I thought that the thread had already provided pages upon pages of evidence to support this. Including old GL interviews that contradict his later plans for a six-episode saga.

He started with Star Wars because that's the story he wanted to tell. After that, he started thinking of expansion. I don't think it had much to do with effects.

Well, this post sounds like it was composed by a mentally-challenged 5-year-old.

But, what else should I expect from the guy claiming to have "inside info" on the Blu-Ray release, and then posting things like other people's custom covers and other images that are readily available on the internet.

Oh, by the way, this recent post of yours completely contradicts some of your previous supposed "inside info" that you were "sharing" with us:

2. Especially when he didn't accurately predict the response to the 1977 movie?
3. He didn't choose to start at Episode IV. The decision to make Star Wars into "Episode IV: A New Hope" was applied retroactively a couple of years after the film was done... not a decision made in advance of filming.
According to what I've read, Lucas originally imagined Star Wars as a 9-part story. He started with the "middle act" because he thought that was the most interesting. But it's absurd to think that before Star Wars was released that he knew that Episode I would not be well received, especially because when "Star Wars: A New Hope" was completed, he thought that it would bomb (as you note) - which is why he "escaped" to Hawaii with Steven Spielberg during the premiere and had to be called back to California when it was the big unexpected hit.

Years before it was decided to proceed with the PT, I had read somewhere that Lucas actually wanted to release the remaining six parts in this order: Ep I, VII, II, VIII, III, IX. Before I read that, a friend of mine who is in the film business always thought that Lucas was going to wait some years after the OT, then produce sequels (not the PT). According to this friend's own idea for the story, in the sequels, Luke would continue to lose more natural parts of his body and eventually become mostly machine, like Vader. He thought the clue to that progression was when Luke lost his hand in ESB.

IMO, there was nothing wrong with the broad story outlines of the PT. It was the specific execution, plot illogic and inconsistencies, pacing and story arc, lack of actor direction, poorly written dialog and concentration on the special effects above all else that harmed the PT. Not that everything in the ESB and ROTJ was great, but from the results, Lawrence Kasdan greatly improved those scripts. Lucas should have used him (or someone like him) again on the PT.

I agree with you. The PT could have been really astounding if he swallowed his pride a bit and hired a screenplay writer. Lucas is a great Producer imo and honestly, should have stuck with that through the PT. He is an okay director but honestly, he really could have picked ANYONE to direct the films (not many would have turned the chance to direct any kind of Star Wars film down). Could have been amazing movies, but instead they are just okay.
