Which sometimes gets awesome results:

Excerpt from an LA Times article\interview with Coppola about the Blu-ray Apocalypse Now-

The new edition also delivers a widescreen version of the film on home video that Coppola says should quiet the howls of protest from “the aficionados and the purists” about the screen aspect ratio of past releases.

Refutes the whole, "Your opinion doesn't matter anyway," crap too. Everyone with a wallet has a voice.

Considering the recent news about Star Wars going 3-D, I think it's way too obvious it's all about profit and not "vision". How many fans have asked for 3-D? Zero (from what I've seen). How many have asked for the Star Wars they knew and loved back in the day? Too many.

Don't get me wrong, mate. I am all for being vocal about things, but it's the attitude that matters.

SW fans are sooooooo passionate about the films, that their love has turned into hatred and negativity, which just doesn't do anybody any good.
Do you know what I mean?
Also, when George Lucas writes an essay on education, and comments are:

Greedo shot first Nugh said.

It gets kinda annoying, don't you think?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/george..._b_828962.html

Wouldn't it be much more productive to just create an online petition, and anyone who feels like it signs it, and adds a personal comment why he/she wants the UOT released....?

Oh wait, doesn't that petition exist already?

It has simply gotten out of hand IMHO, and that saddens me, because SW is there to be enjoyed. Peace.

You do see the contraction in your post, don't you?

How can it be because of greed if no one asked for it?

He releases them in 3-D because he likes it that way.

He doesn't release the UOT, because he wasn't happy with them.

So, he is doing the opposite of what you'd consider milking it.

The fans, the vocal minority who truly appreciate an artist's work, don't want the changes made to the series. However, as a minority, they can be overwhelmed by the masses of people who might buy something they never had before, or upgrade, upon a new release.

The artist has to make money – even good money – but Lucas long ago crossed over into "milking my cash cow" territory. I'd wager it's been quite some time since he valued those who deeply value what he created more than he values the money that the lukewarm buyers have.

It's coming back in 3D because hey, those screaming kids that are allowed to wander around the theater need to be kept somewhere that weekend, right?

Amazon US (which I believe is the only Amazon with the Goldbox). You do not need to be Prime; it just needs to be on your Recommendations list with other films/items they consider 'like' or 'similar' to it.

You need a week to watch them all? Lightweight! J/K.

I'll probably try to at least get through 2 a day. A New Hope will be the toughest to sit through in one sitting.

A New Hope might be my favourite out of all of them. I don't have much trouble watching any of them in one sitting. Empire is second-favourite. The Return. Then Rots, PM, and finally AotC.

Keep in mind it's been a while since I've watched them, but I def prefer the OT. And I'm only 20 years old, so it's not like I'm an old fan.

Better brew some strong coffee, get some mountain dew throwback, and invest in bottles of five hour energy.

I find what works best is a FULL night's rest, some exercise, a NOS energy drink, and one of those Monster energy shots.

That would the exact opposite for me as I can watch that magnificent masterpiece of sci-fi/fantasy filmaking 24/7 on a continuous loop.

In fact I will probably watch it for 7 straight days.

I never get tired of ANH.

I'm a bit younger (25) but my uncle was a teen when it first came out in '77. He says he must have seen it around 20 times at the theater.

I'm so jealous of him.

The only thing I didn't quite like about it is I would have liked Ben to survive somehow (a great character that added so much depth to the story) and that Luke doesn't do much Jedi stuff aside from using the Force to blow up the Death Star.

One that that I don't really like is how overpowered the characters from the PT are compared to those from the OT. No way in hell Ewan McGregor 20 years later would fight or die like he did in ANH. He would have torn Vader a new one and single handedly brought down the Death Star with just his lightsaber.
