While I would like to have the unaltered OT, my main hopes are for:

Reference picture
Reference(7.1) lossless audio
Lots and lots of never before seen bonus features

I know that a lot of the CGI added to the OT kinda stands out unnaturally, and looks cartoony, but with the technology we have now, I'm sure they could update them to look much more natural, and I'm pretty sure they'll fix the audio on e.IV, the rotoscoping problems, the lightsabers, matte lines etc.
I'm sure that if we know about all that stuff, they do too.

To be honest, I'm also exited(and a little worried) to see what changes have been made, and the extent of additions/changes that they've made.

The irony here being that Kelso is the Jar Jar of That 70s Show.

I never thought I'd find myself defending Ashton Kutcher but that was really uncalled for.

Defending Ashton Kutcher is definitely uncalled for.

Ashton Kutcher is hilarious in That 70's Show! Remember when he was Chewbacca?

Jar Jar isn't funny at all. I dunno why but there's something about his character that is rage-inducing. LOL

Not exactly Kutcher's biggest admirer either, I just couldn't resist using that. And I'll admit he could be annoying at times, but come on, you actually think Kelso's as bad as the Gungan retard?

He was also decent in The Butterfly Effect.

I think Jar Jar is rage inducing on every single level. What could have possibly prepared us for seeing such a cartoonish kindergarden aged TV show character invading the first Star Wars movie to come out in nearly two decades?

I genuinely wish I could share Beast's sentiment for Jar Jar.

I suppose I am indifferent to Jar Jar. Don't love him or hate him. As an integral part of Episode I, a film I happen to think is the best made of the PT, I personally have grown to respect his character in the grand scheme of Star Wars things.

I think a lot of the hate thrown at Jar Jar are people jumping on the bandwagon more than anything else. Don't underestimate the power of mob mentality and a perceived majority. After all, anyone who dares like something that a vocal group does not usually gets publicly flogged by said group.

I was 14 when I first saw a picture of Jar Jar in a Sci-fi magazine, before the release of Ep 1, and thought "WTF is this nonsense???" I'm an OJJH. (Original Jar Jar Hater)

I used to be a Jar Jar hater, but he's grown on me to the point of being tolerable. Plus he's the one who gave Palpatine Supreme Power! You're supposed to hate him!

I think the Gungans in general were poorly conceived ("cartoon rabbit" is a good description and the Caribbean or Jamaican accents don't help either) and obnoxious. I feel like almost any other kind of alien would have been better.

Probably would have been better if he didn't speak English.

Maybe he just looked good on Happy Meals?

I really liked JarJar from the moment I first saw him in the Trailer for "the Phantom Menace"... I think he perfectly fits inside the Star Wars Universe. The whole Gungan/Otoh Gunga design and itīs similarity to art nouveau is simply beautiful and compliments the whole story.

The fanboy Anti-JarJar nonsense is just ridiculous!

Probably making the first Star Wars, since he apparently cannot sit through it without falling asleep .

I hadn't heard that one before.

I just know that Spielberg was begging George to let him direct one of the Prequels.

I am glad he didn't.
I thought that was common knowledge. He also offered it to, among others, David Lynch and Paul Verhoeven. Interesting choices, if you ask me. And both people who wouldn't have let Lucas walk over them, which he definitely needs.
Getting more people involved in the prequels probably would have made those better, too. I heard he contacted Lawrence Kasdan to help him writing, but he said no. Could have been interesting.

Could you imagine Verhoeven directing Ep.III...?
- Palpatine: "Master Windu, you have 20 seconds to put down your weapon...you have 15 seconds to put down you weapon...10, 5..."
-Mace: "Dead or alive, you're coming with me!"

@al cos:

Ok Ok, movement is not exactly appropriate ...
Still, I find the JarJar backlash a little extreme. In the end heīs a supporting character.
